Ryobi USB Lithium Lifestyle Releases: Compact Speaker Kit and Heated Cushion

Two new 4V USB Lithium lifestyle products from Ryobi: a $99 IP67 Bluetooth speaker and an $89 heated cushion for cold bleachers and tree stands.

Introduction

Ryobi keeps expanding beyond tools, and the latest USB Lithium releases are pure lifestyle gear: a compact Bluetooth speaker and a heated seat cushion, both running on the brand’s small 4V USB Lithium batteries. Neither will replace a pro-grade tool, but both solve real, everyday problems for people already in the Ryobi platform. Here is what each one offers and who it actually makes sense for.

Ryobi FVA51K USB Lithium Compact Speaker Kit

The compact speaker kit carries model number FVA51K and is priced at $99 MSRP. It carries an IP67 dustproof and waterproof rating, so it can handle rain, dust and job-site abuse. Runtime is rated at up to 6 hours using the included 2Ah USB Lithium battery, which charges over USB-C.

The headline spec is the 250-foot Bluetooth range. Most job-site and portable speakers from competing brands sit around 100 feet, so this is a meaningful step up if you want to leave your phone in one place and wander. On the control panel you get power, volume up and down, play/pause and a Bluetooth pairing button.

One thing worth knowing: there is no AM/FM radio. Everything streams from your phone over Bluetooth, which most people will not miss, but it is a change from traditional job-site radios. Sound quality remains unverified, so temper expectations until hands-on testing is possible. Availability is currently listed as coming soon on the product page, with a release expected within the next month or two.

Ryobi USB Lithium Heated Cushion

The heated cushion is the more immediately practical of the two, priced at $89. It is a firm 3-in-1 cushion seat designed for year-round use: cold-weather heating, built-in mobile device charging, and a comfortable seat. Convenient carrying handles make it easy to move from the car to the bleachers, the tailgate or the job site.

Heating is where this earns its price. It offers three temperature settings: high reaches up to 150°F and runs about 2 hours with the indicator glowing red, medium is around 130°F for roughly 3 hours on orange, and low sits at 110°F for up to 5 hours on white. The 5-hour figure is on the lowest setting, so expect noticeably less on high. It will not keep your whole body warm, but a warm seat on a cold, damp metal bleacher changes the entire experience of sitting through a fall game.

The battery system uses a pack that holds two USB Lithium batteries, and the cushion also works as a two-port power source to charge mobile devices. Charging your phone from it will drain the batteries fairly quickly, so treat that feature as a backup rather than a primary power bank.

Why the USB Lithium Platform Makes Sense Here

Both products run on Ryobi’s expanding 4V USB Lithium line, which charges through a USB-C port, and multi-bay chargers are available to charge several batteries in sequence. The small batteries are inexpensive and ship with most 4V tools, so anyone already in the platform likely has spares on hand. Just swap a dead battery for a fresh one and keep going.

That battery ecosystem is the real argument for buying in. The tools are widely accessible, the 4V line keeps growing, and lifestyle products like these make the platform useful well beyond the workshop.

Should You Buy Either One?

If you are a parent spending hours on metal bleachers at fall practices, a tailgater, or a hunter sitting in a cold tree stand, the heated cushion at $89 is an easy yes. If you already own plenty of portable speakers, the $99 compact speaker is a harder sell, but the IP67 rating and 250-foot Bluetooth range give it a clear edge over most 100-foot competitors.

Conclusion

Neither product reinvents anything, but both fill gaps that bigger tool brands mostly ignore. The heated cushion is the standout for anyone who sits outside in cold weather, while the compact speaker kit is a solid option if the extended Bluetooth range and waterproofing match how you would actually use it. Both are worth watching for release in the coming months.
