Celebrity Kitchen Lines Tested: Paris Hilton, Drew Barrymore, Selena Gomez and Kris Jenner
We put five celebrity-branded kitchen products to the test, from Paris Hilton's knife block to the Our Place Always Pan, to see which ones are actually worth buying.
Introduction
Celebrity cookware lines are everywhere now. Paris Hilton has a full kitchen collection, Drew Barrymore seemingly has every appliance ever invented, and Selena Gomez’s cookware ads appear constantly. The interesting part is that most of these celebrities are not chefs, so the real question is whether the products behind the famous names are any good.
This roundup covers five products across four celebrity brands: a Paris Hilton knife block set, a toaster and stand mixer from Drew Barrymore’s Beautiful line, the Our Place Always Pan from the Selena Gomez collection, and a set of Safely cleaning products co-founded by Kris Jenner. Each was unboxed, used for real cooking and baking tasks, and judged on performance, build quality and value.
Paris Hilton Knife Block Set
Paris Hilton’s cookware line turned out to be a surprise. Given her glamorous image, an expensive, luxurious collection might have been expected, but the line is actually an affordable, cute range sold at Walmart. The knife block set is the standout item of the collection, priced at around $50 for a large set of knives, and it has accumulated a surprisingly strong review record.
Out of the box, it is undeniably adorable, but closer inspection reveals issues. The glittery finish looks less sparkly in person than in the product photos, and the color of the knives does not match the scissors or the block itself. Build quality feels lightweight and cheap, with visible machining lines and some chips on the blades.

In use, results were mixed. Some knives cut poorly and felt like toy knives, while others, including a santoku-style blade, were genuinely sharp and sliced cleanly with thin cuts. The verdict lands at a 6.5 out of 10: lightweight, imperfect and slightly mis-advertised in color, but sharp out of the box and a reasonable choice for a first kitchen or a college starter set, given the price.
Beautiful by Drew Barrymore Toaster
Drew Barrymore’s Beautiful line is built on a simple idea: appliances sit on your counter permanently, so they should look good. That philosophy shows, because the collection spans an enormous number of appliances and colorways, from air fryers to kettles to popcorn makers, all in attractive finishes. The toaster tested here came in a black and gold colorway that looks classic and sleek.
Functionally, it performed well. The lever action feels satisfying, the touchscreen is easy to wipe down, and the four-slice capacity is genuinely useful. It even includes a gluten-free setting, an unusual but thoughtful touch. There are quirks, though: an initial plasticky smell during first use, and a beeping alert that is loud and aggressive with no volume control, which is less charming in a quiet morning kitchen.

Toasting results were light and even, with a good range at the lower settings, though some testers wanted a bit more browning. Overall it earns a 9 out of 10 for looks, capacity and ease of cleaning, held back mainly by the unadjustable beeping.
Beautiful by Drew Barrymore Stand Mixer
The Beautiful stand mixer is a five-quart model priced at $168, which is dramatically less expensive than the roughly $500 KitchenAid that many bakers consider the default. It is also undeniably pretty, and it includes suction feet that hold it steady on the counter while mixing, a genuinely useful feature that keeps it from walking across the table.
Not everything is premium, though. The head assembly and some components are plastic, the lift mechanism only works via a spring-loaded button rather than a smooth manual motion, and the lock and unlock action felt stiff and finicky. At 8 lb 3 oz it is also surprisingly light for a stand mixer, which raises questions about long-term durability.

Where it counts, it performs. It offers an impressively large number of speed settings, the lowest speed is gentle enough that dry ingredients do not puff out of the bowl, a common complaint with more powerful mixers, and it mixed batter thoroughly with minimal scraping needed. As an entry-level mixer at $168 versus nearly $500 for the competition, it earns an 8.5 out of 10.
Our Place Always Pan (Selena Gomez Collection)
The Our Place Always Pan in the Selena Gomez collection arrived in fancy packaging with the signature colorway inspired by a Rare Beauty lip color. It comes with welcome unadvertised bonuses, including a silicone baking mat, a nesting basket and a wooden spatula that attaches to the pan’s handle, a thoughtful system given that metal utensils should never touch a non-stick coating.
In use, the pan is excellent. The color and weight feel great, food slides around easily, and cleanup was as simple as wiping it out. Pancakes came out with crisp, even edges and no sticking. One design flaw stands out: the extra helper handle gets hot enough to burn, which is a genuine safety annoyance.
At $150 it is a lot of money for one pan, but it is beautiful, versatile with thick sides suitable for roasting vegetables and potatoes, and the included accessories add real value. An 8 out of 10 feels fair for a pan that does the job of several.
Safely by Kris Jenner Cleaning Products
Kris Jenner did not come to this test with cookware, but her plant-based cleaning brand Safely fits the kitchen theme. The brand’s pitch is simple: super effective, plant-based cleaning products safe enough for the whole family. The test kit included the Bright multi-purpose spray and Fresh dish soap, plus a plastic-free scrub brush, biodegradable reusable dish cloths and reusable paper towels, all for $48.
The Bright scent, built on pink grapefruit top notes, is genuinely lovely, and the dish soap performed surprisingly well, lifting both surface grime and deep-set food coloring stains from counters. The multi-purpose spray was less impressive, struggling with deep oil and dye stains, and the spray bottle’s ergonomics are genuinely uncomfortable, with an awkward trigger that offers nowhere to rest your hand.

The overall verdict is a 7 out of 10, driven mostly by that excellent scent and a dish soap that clearly works. One practical note: at the time of testing, the products were no longer available on the Safely website, so availability may be limited.
Overall Buying Advice
The clear pattern across this test is that price and expectations matter more than the celebrity name. The cheapest product, the Paris Hilton knife set, is worth buying only if you treat it as a stylish starter set. The Drew Barrymore appliances punch well above their price, particularly the stand mixer at $168. The Our Place Always Pan is the most expensive per item but delivers the best overall cooking experience. Safely sits in the middle: pleasant to use, partially effective, and worth it mainly for the dish soap.
Conclusion
Selena Gomez’s Always Pan takes the crown in this lineup for its design, performance and thoughtful accessories, with the Drew Barrymore stand mixer as the best value pick. The celebrity kitchen market is bigger than most people realize, and while not every product lives up to its branding, several of these genuinely earn a place on a real kitchen counter.
