Best Robot Vacuums 2026: Seven Flagship Models Compared
We put seven flagship robot vacuums and mops through a full battery of tests to see which ones justify their premium price tags.
Introduction
The 2025 model year brought a wave of new ideas to robot vacuums and mops, from threshold leaping and bagless base stations to roller mops and new navigation systems. In 2026, the focus has shifted to refinement. This year’s flagship models mostly improve on those existing designs rather than reinvent them. We tested seven of the most anticipated units to determine whether they justify their premium price tags or whether last year’s models at a discount make more sense.
Carpet Vacuuming Performance
To measure carpet pickup, we mixed 10 grams each of flour, salt, flax seed, and rice to simulate different types of dust and debris, then spread the mixture onto high pile carpet. Each vacuum ran a two pass vacuum only cycle at maximum suction, and we weighed the dust bins before and after to calculate total debris pickup.
The Roborock Qrevo Curve 2 Flow, the least expensive unit in this group, uses a DuoDivide brush roller system with 20,000 Pascals of suction. It cleaned for 48 minutes and picked up 26.9 grams, or 67.3% of the mixture, while using 47% of its battery. After the auto empty process, 2.3 grams remained in the bin, mostly flour caked into the air filter.

The MOVA Mobius 60, priced at $1,199, features a Trobo Wave double brush roller, 30,000 Pascals of suction, and a movable lower gate on the brush housing intended to boost suction effectiveness. Despite the technology, it only picked up 10.8 grams, or 27% of the debris, during a 38 minute run using 42% of its battery. After auto empty, 4.6 grams of debris remained, heavily caked into the air filter, which significantly reduces suction power over time.
The Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete, at $1,359, has a similar design with a suction enhancing gate and a redesigned double brush roller, plus 35,000 Pascals of suction. It cleaned for 28 minutes and picked up 26.2 grams, or 65.5% of the debris, using just 29% of its battery. However, after auto empty, 7.1 grams of dust remained in the bin, a mix of flax and flour caked into the filter along with some loose debris.
The Roborock Saros 20, the 2026 successor to the Saros 10R, saw suction jump from 22,000 to 36,000 Pascals. Carpet pickup, however, is mostly about brush roller design rather than suction. The Saros 20 cleaned for just 24 minutes, the fastest of the group, using only 21% of its battery while picking up 25.1 grams, or 62.8% of the mixture. That is actually 3 grams less than last year’s Saros 10R despite the suction increase, placing it third so far. After auto empty, 1.9 grams remained, mostly flour caked into the filter.
The Narwal Flow 2, successor to last year’s highest performing mop, cleaned for 25 minutes and used 24% of its battery to pick up 18.6 grams, or 46.5% of the debris. While that is 6% higher than the original Flow, it still places second to last. However, after auto empty, just 0.1 grams remained in the dust bin, and the air filter was almost completely clear, which helps prevent suction loss over time.
The Ecovacs X12 OmniClone, at $1,499, keeps a mostly unchanged single brush roller from the X11 but gets a suction boost from 19,500 to 22,000 Pascals. It cleaned for 46 minutes and used 59% of its battery to pick up 17.9 grams, or 44.8% of the debris. It cleaned for almost twice as long and used over twice the battery to achieve slightly less than the Narwal. Its auto empty efficiency was much higher than average, leaving just 0.8 grams in the bin, with less flour caked in the filter than most others.
The most expensive unit, the Eufy Omni S2, shares the general shape of the S1 Pro but is noticeably larger. It features a completely redesigned divided brush roller, a dust bin that resembles a stick vacuum, and 30,000 Pascals of suction. It cleaned for 34 minutes, used 52% of its battery, and picked up 31.5 grams, or 78.8% of the debris. That is not only first place in this group, but the highest score recorded in three years of testing with current equipment. After auto empty, 1.5 grams remained, but the main air filter was completely clean thanks to the unique dust bin design.
Hard Floor Vacuuming
Using the same 40 gram mixture on hard floors, all seven vacuums scored between 96% and 99.5% pickup. Beyond the numbers, we also evaluated how the floors felt on bare feet after cleaning, since some vacuums leave a gritty residue even with high pickup percentages.
The Roborock Qrevo Curve 2 Flow had a middle of the road pickup score after knocking some rice grains under a refrigerator, but the floors still felt very clean. The MOVA Mobius 60 picked up 99.3% of the debris but left a thin film of flour dust that made the floors feel dirty.
Combining carpet and hard floor scores, the Eufy Omni S2 finishes first with an 88.6% combined score, barely ahead of all other vacuums tested. It was held back by a slightly lower than average hard floor pickup score caused by its side facing exhaust, which can push debris out of the way as it passes.
Hair Pickup and Tangle Avoidance
In an initial test with 30 strands of 12 inch human hair spread on a bathroom floor, all robots completely cleaned the hair off the hard flooring. Only the MOVA Mobius 60 and Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete had a single hair on the vacuums themselves.
A more demanding stress test used 1 gram of 16 inch synthetic blue hair and two cotton balls separated into tufts to simulate pet fluff on high pile carpet. The Narwal Flow 2 was the best performer, cleaning 100% of the hair and leaving just a single tuft of fluff on the carpet. It stayed completely tangle free with only a small tuft of cotton stuck on its wheel.
The Eufy Omni S2 appeared to get a perfect score, but footage revealed its side facing exhaust acted like a leaf blower, pushing all the fluff under the couch instead of picking it up. It did pick up the blue hair well and remained completely tangle free on the vacuum itself.
The MOVA Mobius performed decently on hair pickup, leaving a few broken blue hairs and a small bundle of fluff, but had a large tangled ball of hair stuck in its wheel well. The Roborock Saros 20, Qrevo Curve 2 Flow, and Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete all had average results. The Ecovacs X12 OmniClone struggled significantly, leaving a substantial amount of hair and fluff on the carpet, failing to get any hair into its dust bin, and leaving a matted mess clogged behind the brush roller.
Corner Cleaning
Corner vacuuming was tested by placing one teaspoon of dried breadcrumbs in four hard to reach locations, awarding one point for a partial clean and two points for a complete clean. The Eufy Omni S2 and Roborock Saros 20 scored six out of eight points, completely cleaning three of the four piles but failing under the refrigerator. The Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete also scored six points, fully cleaning two piles and partially cleaning both the inside cabinet corner and under the refrigerator.
The Qrevo Curve 2 Flow was too tall to fit under a counter stool, scoring four out of eight. The Ecovacs X12 completely skipped the pile by the dishwasher and scattered the pile in the inside corner for three out of eight. The MOVA decided it could not fit under the stool despite having a retractable LiDAR turret, and completely missed the inside corner pile for two out of eight.
Combining all vacuuming scores, the Eufy Omni S2 finishes on top, held back only by the side exhaust leaf blower effect on light debris. It recorded the highest ever carpet vacuuming score, excellent hair tangle avoidance, and a great corner cleaning algorithm. The surprising second place was the lower priced Roborock Qrevo Curve 2 Flow, with above average pickup, good tangle avoidance, and above average corner cleaning, though its height limited access under low furniture. Third place was a three way tie between the Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete, Narwal Flow 2, and Roborock Saros 20, which were mostly average across the board.
Mopping Performance
Mopping tests used 10 milliliters of dried mud on LVP flooring, with robots running a two pass combined vacuum and mop cycle at maximum water level. Two mopping types are represented: dual spinning pads that self clean at the base station, and roller mops that are constantly cleaned with fresh water and scraped into an onboard dirty water tank.
The Roborock Saros 20, MOVA Mobius 60, and Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete use spinning pads. The MOVA also has three interchangeable pad sets for different flooring types, though we found only minor differences in cleaning ability between them. The Ecovacs X12 OmniClone, Narwal Flow 2, Roborock Qrevo Curve 2 Flow, and Eufy Omni S2 use roller mops.
The Ecovacs X12 has a unique feature that can spot stains and spray them with front facing water jets before mopping. In our test, however, it did not identify the large mud stain as needing pre wetting. The Dreame X60 had the hardest time, only cleaning the stain on the seams of the LVP. The MOVA also struggled to clean the middle of each plank. The Ecovacs X12 performed surprisingly poorly for a roller mop. The Roborock Saros 20 was slightly better. The Eufy Omni S2 did a decent job but left noticeable mud. The Narwal Flow 2 did very well with a visibly clean floor. The Roborock Qrevo Curve 2 Flow did by far the best job, passing a completely clean paper towel test.

We reran the Ecovacs X12 in its forced jet spray mode out of curiosity, and the results were excellent, finishing between the Narwal Flow 2 and Qrevo Curve 2 Flow. Ecovacs needs a firmware update to make the jet spray more active in normal mopping modes.
Corner mopping was tested with hot sauce smears in five hard to reach locations. The surprising worst performer was the Eufy Omni S2, scoring just two out of ten points, completely missing every corner stain and bumping into and moving a stool. It seems the S2 does not understand its own dimensions, making it clumsy and affecting its ability to hug corners with its extendable mop. The Narwal Flow 2 also had navigation issues, scoring five out of ten. The Ecovacs X12 ran its side brush through every stain but only partially cleaned most with its mop, scoring six out of ten. The Roborock Saros 20 could have scored better with more liberal use of its extending pad, ending at six out of ten. The MOVA also earned six out of ten with several partial cleans. The top score went to the Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete, which used its extending pad liberally and was slow and methodical around corners, fully cleaning two stains and partially cleaning three for seven out of ten.
The final mopping test checked whether robots could run a combined vacuum and mop cycle without getting carpet wet in mixed flooring rooms. Only the Roborock Qrevo Curve 2 Flow completely avoided wetting the carpet, using a retractable plastic cover over its roller mop. None of the spinning pad robots could lift their pads high enough to avoid dragging on carpet, though all three can drop their pads at the base station and prioritize carpet cleaning first. Neither the Narwal Flow 2 nor the Eufy Omni S2 could lift their roller mops high enough, and neither has a plastic cover. The Ecovacs X12 has a retractable cover, but it still got carpets wet because the back of the robot gets soaked during mopping and transfers water onto the carpet.
Averaging the three mopping categories, the Roborock Qrevo Curve 2 Flow comes out on top with the best actual mopping score, the best carpet crossing score, and a middle of the road corner mopping score. The Narwal Flow 2 and Eufy Omni S2 did relatively well on stain cleaning, but poor corner performance and inability to cross carpets hurt their overall scores.
Object Avoidance
Object avoidance was tested with a pair of untied shoes, a loose extension cord, and a pile of plastic dog poop. Robots earned one point for touching an object without getting stuck, two points for avoiding completely, and two points for avoiding the dog poop entirely.
The top performer was the Ecovacs X12 OmniClone with a perfect six out of six, a major improvement for a brand that has traditionally struggled with this test. The MOVA Mobius 60 almost scored a perfect six, avoiding every object for nearly 45 minutes before getting too close to the dog poop at the end, finishing with four out of six. The Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete ran directly over the dog poop at the start but avoided it for the rest of the run, also scoring four out of six. The Roborock Saros 20, Eufy Omni S2, and Narwal Flow 2 all ran over the dog poop and gently nudged the shoes for three out of six. The Roborock Qrevo Curve 2 Flow had the most trouble, bumping into shoes multiple times, ignoring the loose cord, and running over the dog poop repeatedly for two out of six.

Threshold Crossing
Threshold crossing was tested at three heights, each with a ramp side and a flat side. The Roborock Saros 20, MOVA Mobius 60, and Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete all traversed the giant 50mm threshold in both directions. The Narwal Flow 2 and Eufy Omni S2 managed the 30mm threshold in both directions. The Ecovacs X12 OmniClone and Roborock Qrevo Curve 2 Flow crossed the ramped side of the 30mm threshold but failed on the flat side. All vacuums easily crossed the more reasonable 13mm threshold.

Apps and Smart Home Integration
The Roborock app has risen to the top, being both user friendly and feature rich. Recent changes to the MOVA and Dreame apps have made maps less detailed in favor of a square based design that makes it harder to set up no go zones and recognize features. Features have become buried in sub menus, making them harder to understand and use. The Ecovacs app also buries options deep in the menu and emphasizes its AI agent mode and Yiko voice assistant. The Narwal app is perfectly fine with a manageable number of options, but the default automatic Freo mode can take extremely long to complete. The biggest gripe with the Narwal app is that carpets are set to cross only by default, which prevents the Flow 2 from cleaning carpets at all even in vacuum only mode.
The Eufy app is as simple as possible, with a 3D house map that works well and is easy to edit. Task setup is extremely simple, but it is the one app that does not have enough options. It lacks an option to vacuum carpets first before getting the mop wet, something most other brands have offered for years. The Eufy Omni S2 is also the only unit that does not allow remote driving via the front facing camera, does not support room specific commands through Amazon Echo, and has no built in voice assistant.
Matter support is a major development this year. Almost all these vacuums are controllable locally when connected via Matter over Wi Fi. After sharing the vacuums with Apple HomeKit, we could select vacuuming, mopping, or vacuum and mop, and select any number of mapped rooms. Blocking all vacuums from the internet via the router, they remained completely controllable via HomeKit for three days at the time of testing. This marks the first time pure local control with high usability has been available on flagship robot vacuums.
Overall Buying Advice
Averaging all individual category grades, with carpet vacuuming and hard floor mopping given double weight, the Roborock Qrevo Curve 2 Flow finishes in first place. It had the second highest carpet vacuuming score and the best mopping performance. The roller mop cover was 100% effective at keeping carpets dry, making it excellent for homes with mixed hard flooring and high pile carpets. It is a great pick and an excellent value at a much lower price than the rest of the group. However, it lacks advanced object avoidance, high threshold crossing, and is much taller than the Roborock Saros 20, Eufy Omni S2, and Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete, so it is not as good at cleaning under low furniture.
The Eufy Omni S2 seems the most flagship level vacuum, recording the highest carpet vacuuming score ever tested with well above average mopping, great hair tangle avoidance, good object avoidance, and Matter connectivity. Its two biggest shortcomings are the side exit exhaust that pushes light debris away and a corner mopping algorithm that makes it look unaware of its own dimensions. Both could be fixed with better path planning via firmware updates. Eufy should also add an option to vacuum carpets first before wetting the mop, since it lacks a roller mop cover like the less expensive Qrevo Curve 2 Flow.
If you definitely need a threshold climber, both the Roborock Saros 20 and Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete easily cleared even the tallest 50mm thresholds. Neither had major shortcomings, but they mostly performed average or slightly above average across all tests, which is disappointing for newly released flagships with premium price tags. If you have tall thresholds, last year’s Dreame X50 Ultra can also clear 50mm thresholds with similar performance for $500 less.
The Narwal Flow 2 remains a strong mop with excellent hair tangle avoidance and the cleanest dust bin after auto empty, but its carpet vacuuming is still below average and it cannot cross carpets without wetting them. The Ecovacs X12 OmniClone has the best object avoidance and a promising jet spray system, but it needs firmware refinement and its mopping performance in normal mode was disappointing. The MOVA Mobius 60 offers a lower price and interchangeable pads, but its carpet pickup was the weakest and it left floors feeling gritty.

Conclusion
This year’s flagship robot vacuums are refinements of last year’s innovations rather than breakthroughs. The Roborock Qrevo Curve 2 Flow offers the best overall value with top tier mopping and strong carpet pickup at a lower price. The Eufy Omni S2 delivers the highest carpet vacuuming performance ever recorded but needs firmware work on corner mopping and exhaust placement. For homes with tall thresholds, the Roborock Saros 20 and Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete are the clear choices, though last year’s models may offer better value. The Narwal Flow 2, Ecovacs X12 OmniClone, and MOVA Mobius 60 each have specific strengths but also notable compromises. With Matter support now enabling local control across most of these flagships, the smart home integration story is finally catching up to the hardware.
