The Anker SOLIX F3000 delivers strong performance, fast charging, and a competitive price, but a few design choices may give you pause.

The Anker SOLIX F3000 has been on the market for a while, and it has earned plenty of praise along the way. But praise alone does not tell you whether a product actually fits your needs. This review takes a closer look at what the F3000 does well, where it stumbles, and whether it deserves a place in your home, RV, or off-grid setup.

Who This Product Is For

The F3000 is aimed at people who need serious power in a portable package. With a 3,072 watt-hour battery and a 3,600 watt pure sine wave inverter, it can handle everything from running a refrigerator during an outage to powering tools at a job site or keeping an RV comfortable off the grid.

It is also a strong option for anyone who wants to charge from solar panels. The dual MPPT solar controllers accept up to 2,400 watts of combined solar input, which makes it a practical choice for off-grid living or extended camping trips.

That said, this is not a lightweight unit. At 92 pounds, it is designed to be moved on hard surfaces using its built-in wheels and luggage-style handle, not carried from room to room.

Design and Build

The F3000 has a rugged, functional design. It measures 26 by 12 by 15 inches and weighs 92 pounds. The front panel includes a color LCD display that shows input, output, watts, time to charge, battery percentage, and other useful icons.

The unit has rubber bumpers on the back so it can be stored upright. However, the AC and battery cable inputs are located on that same side, which means you cannot use those ports while the unit is standing upright. It is a minor limitation, but worth knowing if you plan to keep it in a tight space.

One design choice that stands out is the placement of the four 20 amp AC outlets. They are clustered together in a very small area, which makes it difficult to plug in larger adapters or wall warts. If you need to use more than one bulky plug at a time, you will likely need a power strip or extension cord.

Battery and Inverter Performance

Inside the F3000 is a 372 watt-hour lithium iron phosphate battery rated for 4,000 cycles. In testing, the AC battery capacity test delivered 2,650 watt-hours out of 3,072, which works out to about 86 percent efficiency. That is a respectable result and consistent with what you would expect from a unit in this class.

The built-in inverter is a 3,600 watt pure sine wave unit. It powers four 20 amp outlets that are limited to 2,400 watts, plus a single TT-30R 30 amp outlet that can handle the full 3,600 watts. The TT-30R outlet is particularly useful for RV owners who want to plug the station directly into their camper.

Under load, the inverter showed solid surge capability. The 20 amp circuit was able to pull over 2,400 watts for more than a minute, reaching up to 4,800 watts before shutting down. The 3,600 watt outlet also handled 4,800 watts for several seconds without issue.

The pure sine wave output measured 120 volts at 60 Hz, which is a pass. The inverter also ran a power amplifier without any noticeable static or interference, and AM radio interference results came out low. Electromagnetic interference readings were low on DC and higher on AC, which is typical for an inverter of this size.

Charging Flexibility

The F3000 offers a wide range of charging options, which is one of its biggest strengths.

AC charging is fast. From a standard 120 volt wall outlet, the unit charges at 1,800 watts and can go from zero to full in under two hours. If you buy the special 30 amp charging cable, you can charge at 3,600 watts from a 120 volt source and reach full in under an hour. The same 3,600 watt rate is available from a level 2 EV charger with the optional EV cable, from 240 volts with an adapter, or when pairing two F3000 units together.

Solar charging is handled by two MPPT controllers. One accepts 11 to 60 volt input through an XT60 connection, and the other accepts 11 to 165 volt input through a proprietary MC4 adapter cable. Both are capped at 17 amps and can be used simultaneously for up to 2,400 watts of total solar input.

You can also charge with AC and solar at the same time, combining up to 3,800 watts. For example, pairing a generator with solar panels can bring the unit to full in about 45 minutes.

DC charging is possible from 12 and 24 volt sources, but not from a standard car port in a vehicle. The F3000 has no built-in low voltage cap on the amps, so you get the full 17 amps of charging at 12 volts, which would quickly blow a fuse in most vehicles. However, if you plan to charge from raw third-party batteries, you can use both PV inputs at the same time for up to 35 amps or 420 watts of DC charging at 12 volts. That is a unique feature for DIY battery builders.

DC Outputs and USB Ports

The F3000 includes a standard 13.4 volt carport accessory socket rated at 10 amps, plus a 30 amp Anderson Powerpole output. The Anderson output is a standout feature. It can be used for direct wiring to an RV fuse box, running small inverters, or powering several high-amp DC appliances at once. The F3000 is one of the smallest and lowest-priced options on the market that includes this feature.

In testing, the cigarette lighter socket ran 10 amps at 12.2 volts, and the 30 amp Anderson output delivered 411 watts, or 31 amps, for over five minutes. That is slightly better than the rated 30 amp limit.

For USB, the unit offers two 100 watt USB Power Delivery outputs and two standard 5 volt USB-A ports. Both USB-C ports were able to output 100 watts each simultaneously, which is a solid result.

Real-World Performance

The F3000 handled real-world loads without issue. A 5,000 BTU air conditioner started and ran smoothly, pulling about 300 watts. A 15 amp saw combined with a heat gun also passed without problems.

The pass-through UPS test was particularly impressive. With the unit charging at 1,700 watts and running a full desktop PC at 130 watts, cutting grid power caused no interruption. The computer continued running without a hitch, and charging resumed automatically when power was restored. The claimed 20 millisecond switchover time appears to hold up in practice.

Parasitic drain was minimal on DC. Over 12 hours, the DC consumption was effectively zero, making this an excellent choice for running a 12 volt compressor fridge or other DC appliances over long periods. AC idle consumption was higher, using about 417 watt-hours over 12 hours, or roughly 35 watts of wasted power at idle. That is about average for a 3,600 watt high-frequency inverter, though it is worth noting that the advertised 125 hours of AC idle standby time did not match the measured result of about 88 hours.

Things to Consider Before Buying

The F3000 performs well, but there are a few design decisions worth thinking about before you commit.

The four AC outlets are cramped together, which makes it hard to use bulky plugs. The screen also times out after 30 minutes with no way to set it to stay on indefinitely, which can be frustrating if you want to monitor the unit while it runs appliances.

The charging inputs are another point of friction. Both the AC input and one of the solar inputs use proprietary cables. If you lose or damage them, replacements may be hard to find down the road. A standard C13 power cable would have been a simpler and more universal choice.

The extra battery expansion pack is also limited. It has no USB ports, no cigarette lighter socket, and no way to charge independently. It can only be charged by plugging it into the main unit, so it is not useful as a standalone power source.

Buying Advice

The Anker SOLIX F3000 is a strong performer with fast charging, solid battery capacity, and a competitive price. It undercuts its main rival by a few hundred dollars, which makes it an appealing option for anyone who needs a high-capacity portable power station.

If you want a unit that can power an RV, run essential appliances during an outage, or charge quickly from solar and AC sources, the F3000 delivers on all fronts. Just be prepared for the proprietary cables and the occasional design quirk.

Conclusion

The F3000 passed every standard test without issue, and its combination of performance, charging speed, and price makes it a compelling choice. It is not perfect, and the design choices around the outlets, screen timeout, and proprietary cables leave room for improvement. But from a technical standpoint, this is a win for Anker.
