Shark Tank Food Products Worth Trying: Cold Coffee, Plant-Based BBQ, Momos and Chutney
Four food brands from Shark Tank India put to a real taste test: a strong cold coffee, jackfruit BBQ, frozen momos, and a Gujarati tamarind date twister.
Introduction
Shark Tank India has become a surprisingly good place to discover small Indian food brands, but shelves full of promising packaging do not always translate into products worth reordering. We tested four brands that appeared on the show: a cold coffee that lived up to its bold name, a plant-based jackfruit BBQ, frozen momos, and a Gujarati-inspired tamarind date twister. Here is how each one held up in a real tasting, with honest scores and clear guidance on who each product actually suits.
Thekha Coffee Palang Tod Cold Coffee
Thekha Coffee ships its drinks in genuinely likeable bottles, and the Palang Tod cold coffee is priced at 125 rupees. The bottles open easily without needing any extra effort, which is a small touch that makes a real difference when you just want to grab a drink. The name is playful, the packaging looks good, and the whole presentation feels considered.
On taste, Palang Tod is exactly the kind of coffee that suits drinkers who enjoy a classic, balanced profile. It is not aggressively strong, which will disappoint anyone chasing an intense caffeine hit, but for everyday drinking it lands well. Out of everything tasted, this was the standout, and it earned a 9 out of 10. If you like smooth cold coffee that leans drinkable rather than brutal, this is an easy recommendation.

Yankees Momos Classic Veg and Paneer
Yankees Momos offers frozen momos that you steam at home, with a Classic Veg momo made with maida and a Classic Paneer momo made with whole wheat. The packaging is cute and well designed, which is a nice touch for a frozen product. The maida-based veg momos look particularly appealing once steamed, holding their shape well.
The overall impression was positive. The momos tasted good and felt like a solid frozen option, earning an 8 out of 10. If you live in a metro city you may have access to even better fresh momos, but for a convenient at-home option these hold their own. Frozen momo fans should be pleasantly satisfied.

Wakao Jackfruit BBQ Plant-Based Meat
Wakao’s BBQ jackfruit is a 100 percent plant-based meat alternative with an MRP of 350 rupees. It is ready to use and works as a pizza topping or as a filling in sandwiches, sliders, and tacos. The packaging is colourful and attractive, and the brand includes a personal note from its founder and CEO, which adds a genuinely likeable energy to the experience.
The texture is the strongest part. Jackfruit has an inherently interesting, meaty pull, and it works well here. However, the BBQ seasoning did not land, tasting sweeter than expected and unbalanced in flavour. It scored 5 out of 10. The concept and texture earn real credit, and the brand reportedly offers other flavours, so it may be worth exploring those instead of the BBQ variant.

Spice Story Gujarati Tamarind Date Twister
Spice Story takes the idea behind international sauce brands and applies it to desi chutney-style sauces, which is a genuinely great concept. The Gujarati Tamarind Date Twister looks appealing, tastes excellent, and comes in large, well-designed packaging. The flavour earned a strong 8 out of 10.
The one practical consideration is value for money at home. The bottle is large for a flavour this specific, so unless your household goes through chutney regularly, it may sit in the fridge for a while. If you host regular chaat nights or cook Indian snacks often, though, it is an easy pick that rewards frequent use.
Other Finds Worth a Mention
The same tasting round also included a Gujarati dry fruit barfi from a regional sweets platform, a concept built around lesser-known regional Indian mithais rather than imported snacks. Delivery ran noticeably late, so patience is required, but the range of regional sweets on offer is genuinely interesting for anyone tired of the usual options. A batch of flavoured protein shakes was also sampled; the flavouring felt overdone and slightly artificial, and while drinkable, they were not a highlight of the round.

Which One Should You Buy?
If you want the safest bet, Thekha Coffee’s Palang Tod is the clear winner, with the best score of the round and a flavour that suits most cold coffee drinkers. Yankees Momos is a dependable frozen option for quick meals at home. Spice Story’s twister is a flavourful buy for households that use chutney often. Wakao’s BBQ jackfruit is the one to approach carefully: the texture and concept are strong, but the BBQ seasoning itself divided opinion, so consider trying a different flavour first.
Conclusion
Most of these Shark Tank food brands deliver on packaging and concept, but only some deliver on taste. Thekha Coffee’s Palang Tod and Spice Story’s tamarind date twister stood out as genuinely tasty, Yankees Momos proved a reliable frozen pick, and Wakao’s jackfruit remains promising despite a seasoning misstep. Choosing based on how you actually eat, rather than how good the bottle looks, is the smartest way to spend your money here.
