Olight Ark Pro Series: Which of the Three EDC Flashlights Fits Your Kit?

The Ark Pro family brings USB-C charging, a relocated laser with natural click control, and dual spot-and-flood output. Here is how the Ultra, Pro, and Light differ.

Introduction

Olight’s Ark Pro series takes the bar-shaped Arkfeld formula that so many people already liked and refines it into three distinct models: the Ark Pro Ultra, the Ark Pro, and the Ark Pro Light. The headline upgrades are easy to list: USB-C charging for everyone who has been asking for it, a laser that has been relocated and given genuinely natural control, and, on the Ultra, both spot and flood emitters so you no longer have to choose one beam shape per light.

How the Ark Pro Series Evolved

The original Arkfeld was a simple, pocket-friendly light: white output plus a laser, toggled with a push button. A later version swapped the laser for UV, but with the obvious limitation that you had to pick one. The Ark Pro line answers that by offering UV, laser, and white light together in a more pocketable body with a bigger battery and higher performance. Along the way there was the Ark Flex with its 90-degree head, and the aluminum Arkfeld Ultra, which brought a smoothed-out interface and serious durability.

Build Details That Matter

Small execution touches separate the Ark Pro line from earlier models. The side fasteners are now flush rather than raised, which looks cleaner and carries more comfortably in a pocket. The grip texture has changed too, with roughly 1,800 tiny squares cut into the body instead of simple lines. On the Ark Pro Ultra, the top of the light also includes micro-perforated battery indicator holes, with a power readout on the end.

Olight Ark Pro Ultra

The Ark Pro Ultra is the flagship of the trio, and it packs in nearly every feature the series offers. The laser has been moved to the side of the body, and its control is the real story: press the button and the laser latches on, press and hold to turn it off, exactly the way a conventional laser pointer behaves. While it is on, holding the button again cycles between a brighter and a dimmer laser output.

The white output tops out at 1,500 lumens on high, though not for long at that level. More interesting is that moving the laser freed up space for two separate white emitters: one spot and one flood. You can switch between reaching further downrange or lighting up your immediate surroundings on demand, which is a genuinely useful everyday carry capability.

The Ultra also carries UV with two brightness levels, and Olight includes test cards in the packaging so you can immediately verify the UV output. Charging is handled through USB-C, while the existing magnetic puck ecosystem remains available for those already invested in it. One quirky hidden feature is the Arkbeat: a small pulsing indicator inside the light that changes color based on accumulated hours of use, reaching purple at 128 hours, after which you can set it to whichever color you prefer.

Olight Ark Pro

The Ark Pro keeps the same side-mounted laser control and the same USB-C charging as the Ultra, along with the flush screws and refined design. The main difference is output: it delivers 200 fewer lumens on turbo than the Ultra. It is also available in a different aluminum color option and carries the Arkbeat indicator as well. If you do not need the absolute highest turbo output, the Pro gets you nearly the whole experience in a slightly simpler package.

Olight Ark Pro Light

The Ark Pro Light is the simplified member of the family. There is no laser here, but you do get a flood emitter, a red light with multiple settings including a click for turbo, and UV with two brightness levels. USB-C charging and the flush-screw build details carry over. It is aimed at people who want the core Ark Pro experience without the laser, in a cleaner, more focused design.

Buying Advice

Choose the Ark Pro Ultra if you want everything: laser, UV, spot and flood white light, the highest turbo output, and the Arkbeat feature. Choose the Ark Pro if you want nearly all of that with slightly lower turbo output and a lower commitment. Choose the Ark Pro Light if a laser holds no appeal and you mainly want white, red, and UV output in the same refined body. All three use the same one-page operating instructions, so switching between them later is painless, and engraving is available if you want a personalized touch.

Conclusion

The Ark Pro series is a thoughtful upgrade to a design people already loved. The move to USB-C, the repositioned laser with hold-to-off control, and the Ultra’s spot-plus-flood flexibility address nearly every practical complaint about the earlier Arkfeld lights. Pick the model that matches the feature set you will actually use, and any of the three is an easy recommendation for an everyday carry light.
