MOS Burger × Traveler's Notebook Limited Set: A Dark, Coordinated Daily Carry
The third MOS Burger limited Traveler's Notebook set arrives in regular size with a refill, tin charm, pen holder, and sacoche. Here is what is inside and which pens fit.
Introduction
MOS Burger has collaborated with Traveler’s Notebook before, but those releases were passport size. This third limited edition set finally comes in regular size, and it arrives as a fully coordinated package: notebook, refill, charm, pen holder, and sacoche, all leaning into a dark color scheme.
The set is priced at 15,400 yen. It comes in Black and Olive colorways, and based on how quickly earlier MOS limited runs sold, demand will likely be strong again when a restock is announced.
What’s in the Set
The official description is a mouthful but accurate: a regular-size Traveler’s Notebook bundled with a refill, charm, pen holder, and sacoche, billed as a notebook that makes you want to head out to the mountains, the sea, and the sunshine. Each item is packaged individually and carefully, which makes the unboxing feel properly special.

The illustrated artwork matches the previous passport-size limited model, so if you liked that design, this is essentially its full-size counterpart. One small omission: no pen is included, so the pen holder is where your own choice comes in.
The Pewter Teriyaki Burger Charm
The charm is where this set gets playful. Instead of the usual flat brass charm, MOS went with a tin (pewter) charm modeled on the teriyaki burger, the chain’s signature item. It is fully three-dimensional, so the burger sculpting holds up from any angle, and the detailing is genuinely fine for something so small.
Each charm has a slightly different color and finish, which gives every notebook its own character. It is a fun, clearly limited-edition touch, even if flat brass would have been the more classic choice.

The Sacoche
The included sacoche is more substantial than expected. It is made from cotton fabric, has a front pocket with a logo tag, and a strap long enough to wear over the shoulder.
Capacity is generous: the regular-size Traveler’s Notebook slips in completely with room to spare. If you like carrying your notebook loosely with a few extras, this alone adds real value to the set.
The Notebook Itself
The cover leather feels essentially the same as the standard Traveler’s Notebook, which means it will pick up scratches and patina over time. The hardware has a darker, blackened finish this time, matching the overall dark theme.
Color placement differs between versions. On Black, the illustrated design is foil-pressed in silver at the bottom right, while the Olive version uses a single blind-stamped MOS logo. The silver foil will fade slightly with use, but that kind of honest wear suits a notebook like this.
The real highlight is the refill. Its cover is covered edge to edge in the same illustration, foil-pressed in silver on a black background, and flipping it over reveals the same design inverted on white. It is a design you can keep looking at, almost too nice to write in.

Setting It Up
Assembly follows the standard Traveler’s Notebook routine. The charm threads onto the elastic band, and while it is quite small, the detailing holds up nicely once attached.
The pen holder is the tricky part. The example setup clips it directly onto the front of the cover, but removing elastic attachments can leave marks on a limited-edition cover, so some owners may prefer the back or an inner refill instead. The holder is fairly stiff and grips firmly, which is reassuring for security even if attaching it takes some effort. It fits pens up to about 12mm in shaft diameter, which is the key constraint when choosing what to pair with it.
Choosing the Right Pen
Since the whole set leans dark, black-bodied pens fit naturally, and silver pens echo the foil-pressed refill artwork nicely. The 12mm limit rules out thicker fountain pens and chunky multi-pens, so slim metal multi-pens are the sweet spot.
A few strong candidates:
- Penco Multi Pen: a twist-style multi-pen in a muted, non-glittery silver. Black and red ballpoint plus pencil, and notably slim for a multi-pen. A natural match for this notebook.
- Sakura Craft Lab 004: a rotating multi-pen with black and red water-based gel ink plus pencil. The Ash Grey colorway coordinates with both Black and Olive covers; Ebony Black and Bottle Green are also available. The shaft just barely fits the holder.
- Itoya Romeo No. 4 Leather Grip: very slim, with black, red and blue ballpoints plus pencil, and a leather grip. Note it uses an unusual rotating-color knock mechanism: point the color label upward and knock. Using it like a normal ballpoint can break it.
- MS02: another rotating multi-pen with black and red ballpoint plus pencil. It has a hexagonal, easy-to-grip shaft and a needle-point tip that makes small handwriting easier.

Buying Advice
If this design speaks to you, watch for restock announcements rather than giving up, as additional restocks are expected. The Black version suits anyone planning to build out an all-dark, silver-accented setup with matching accessories.
If you already own a previous MOS limited model, this regular-size version pairs well with gold or brass accessories for contrast. Mixing tin and brass pieces, or keeping everything monochrome, both work. That freedom to coordinate is a big part of what makes Traveler’s Notebook fun in the first place.
Conclusion
The MOS Burger limited set is a well-judged package: a handsome dark leather cover, a genuinely beautiful foil-pressed refill, a charming pewter burger charm, a sturdy sacoche, and a usable pen holder, all at 15,400 yen. The main compromises are the missing pen, the stiff pen holder attachment, and the usual limited-edition worry about wear marks. For fans of the design, it is an easy recommendation if you can catch a restock.
