LADIT Cordura Resonate Pen Case: Two Sizes, One Refined Everyday Carry

LADIT upgrades its popular Resonate pen case with durable Cordura fabric in a standard and a large size. Here is what changes, what works, and what to check before buying.

Introduction

The original Resonate pen case from LADIT was already a quiet favorite: affordable, well made, and popular with both students and working adults. That popularity now gets a material upgrade. The LADIT Cordura Resonate Pen Case and the LADIT Cordura Resonate Pen Case Large take the same proven design and rebuild it with one of the most trusted fabrics in the gear world.

The standard size is priced at ¥2,860 and the large size at ¥3,080, and both launch simultaneously in black, navy, khaki, and beige. That is slightly more than the earlier nylon versions, but still comfortably in impulse-friendly territory for the quality on offer.

What’s New: Cordura Fabric and a Cleaner Look

The headline change is the fabric. Where the standard model used a pleasant, non-rustling nylon, these new versions use Cordura fabric, a material known for exceptional durability. Cordura is often cited as offering roughly seven times the strength of regular nylon, with strong resistance to color fading. It also carries a Teflon coating, making it more resistant to water and stains.

The practical result is immediately visible. The texture feels richer, the case looks more grown-up, and the whole thing reads as a more premium object without becoming flashy. The carry handle has also been redesigned with a Kawamachi-style detail, and the design overall feels tighter than before.

One thing worth noting: the zipper is smooth and snag-free in use, though no YKK marking is visible on the pulls.

Inside the Large Model: Smarter Storage Layout

The standard model keeps the same construction as the previous nylon version, apart from the fabric, with a single front zip pocket. The large model is where the layout has genuinely been rethought.

On the right side, four full-width elastic pen holders accommodate pens of any barrel thickness without scratching them, since the elastic covers each pen completely. On the left, three elastic bands hold erasers and similar small items, with a slip pocket above them for a ruler or an extra pen.

Flip the elastic panel over and there is more: three horizontal mesh pockets backed by rubber openings that keep contents from sliding out. Compared with one large zip pocket, having items separated like this simply works better in daily use. The storage capacity of the previous model’s separate pockets has effectively been consolidated and improved here.

How Much Fits Inside

The large model swallows a serious everyday kit. In testing, it held four main pens (including a Rotring 800, a Kokuyo Special Mechanical Pencil, a Wood Pen Craft ballpoint, and a Zoom C1), a Lamy Logo Tri Pen, a limited Sakura Craft Lab 001S gel pen, a carbon ruler, a Pentel Ain lead case, and a Blackwing-style eraser in the front section.

The mesh pockets on the back handled sticky notes, correction tape, and a USB flash drive, while the free space took a Rhodia Bloc notepad and a glue stick. Even fully loaded, the case closed without strain and still had room to spare.

Things to Consider Before Buying

Two details are worth knowing before you order. First, the Resonate tag on the front feels a bit tacked on: viewed from above or below, the white backing peeks out and slightly spoils the otherwise clean look. Second, the three mesh pockets, while rubber-edged for security, are shallow. Only genuinely flat items fit well, so a little extra mesh depth would have been welcome.

Who Each Size Is Best For

The standard size suits anyone who mainly carries pens and a few small tools and prefers a compact case. It shares its construction with the earlier model, so its appeal is mostly the Cordura upgrade itself.

The large size is the more interesting pick for most people. The reversed interior layout, the four elastic pen loops, the mesh pocket panel, and the noticeably bigger capacity make it a genuine organizer rather than just a pen case. It works just as well for a student’s pencil case as it does for a professional’s everyday carry.

The Cordura Resonate Pen Case Large balances build quality, capacity, and price unusually well, and it is easy to recommend to a wide range of users.

Conclusion

LADIT took a pen case that already sold well and made it better in the two ways that matter most: material and organization. The Cordura fabric lifts the look and durability considerably, and the large model’s interior is smarter than before. There are small nitpicks, namely the tag and the shallow mesh pockets, but neither outweighs the overall value. If you are choosing between the two, the large model is the one most people will be happiest with long term.
