Sunseeker 60V Yard Care Tools: Four Battery-Powered Picks for Lawn and Hedge Work

Two brushless string trimmers, a backpack-ready hedge trimmer, and an articulating pole trimmer from Sunseeker's 60-volt lineup, explained with the details that matter.

Introduction

Sunseeker’s 60-volt battery powered lawn care lineup covers the four tools most homeowners and landscapers reach for first: two versions of a brushless string trimmer, a brushless hedge trimmer, and an articulating pole hedge trimmer. All four share the same battery platform and a digital control panel, which makes the range easy to mix and match. Here is how each one is built and who it suits.

The Sunseeker 60V Battery System

Everything in this lineup runs on Sunseeker’s 60V battery platform. Standard options include a 4Ah pack and an 8Ah pack, while high-capacity 15Ah and 25Ah backpack batteries serve professional landscapers and users who need much longer run times.

A particularly useful detail is Sunseeker’s backpack harness, which works with both the standard batteries and the larger backpack packs. On tether-ready tools, running the battery in the backpack takes the weight off the tool itself and reduces arm fatigue, while giving you extreme runtime for long sessions.

Sunseeker 60V Brushless String Trimmers

The brushless string trimmer produces 1,800 watts, enough to pull double duty as a brush cutter. It is a three-speed tool running at 4,500, 5,200, and 5,800 RPM, and like every tool in the lineup, adjustments happen on the fly through a digital control display with a power button and a mode button that cycles between speeds. The cutting swath is 16.5 inches and it uses 0.095-inch line; an optional 10-inch blade converts it into a brush cutter.

Sunseeker offers two versions, and the difference is only in how the battery connects. The CBC 7910P takes a 60V battery directly on the tool, and it can also use an adapter to tether to a larger backpack battery. The CBC 79111P instead features a tether connection port that connects directly to a backpack battery. There is no performance difference between the two, so the choice comes down to which connection style you prefer.

Sunseeker 60V Brushless Hedge Trimmer

The brushless hedge trimmer drives a set of dual-action, double-sided 30-inch knives at up to 4,000 strokes per minute and produces 1,200 watts. If you want to preserve runtime or are doing lighter trimming, it also operates at 3,600 or 3,200 strokes per minute.

The digital LCD control panel is a nice bonus that Sunseeker has not seen on other battery powered hedge trimmers: beyond mode selection, it shows remaining battery percentage, total hours on the machine, and any error or maintenance notifications.

A five-position rotating handle lets you adjust your grip to trim ergonomically at a variety of angles; pull the lower trigger and rotate the handle to the position you want. The trimmer is well balanced at just 9.3 pounds and carries an IPX4 ingress rating.

Sunseeker CPT 7618 Articulating Pole Hedge Trimmer

For trimming down low or reaching up high on tall bushes, the CPT 7618 brushless articulating hedge trimmer measures 85 inches overall and locks its articulating head into any of 11 different positions. That gives you the angle you need to trim up high, down low, or with extended reach.

The brushless motor produces 1,800 watts and is geared to cut at 2,800, 3,200, or 3,600 strokes per minute on its 21-inch double-sided, dual-action knives. It has the power and clearance to cut branches up to 1.1 inches thick, all while weighing just 12.1 pounds with an IPX4 rating.

Overall Buying Advice

Think in terms of connection style and cutting need. If you want the lightest in-hand setup for longer sessions, the tether-ready string trimmer or any tool paired with the backpack harness makes sense. For handheld flexibility, the onboard-battery version is the simpler pick. The fixed hedge trimmer suits regular shaping work, while the articulating pole trimmer is the tool for tall hedges and hard-to-reach angles.

Conclusion

Sunseeker’s 60V lineup is advanced and flexible, with smart LCD controls, backpack and onboard battery options, and strong ergonomic features across all four tools. If you are building a battery-powered yard care kit, this is a platform worth watching as more products arrive.
