Scribo Feel Arrivederle Stelle Review: A Starry Night on Paper
A hands-on look at the Scribo Feel with the special Arrivederle Stelle finish and an oversized triple broad gold nib, covering what works and what to watch for.
Introduction
The Scribo Feel has been reviewed before, but this particular example deserved a second look for two reasons: a special finish called Arrivederle Stelle, and a triple broad nib that few companies still make. Scribo lent the pen out for evaluation, and the result is a pen that is equal parts spectacle and refinement, with a price tag to match.
The Feel is a piston-filled Italian fountain pen with an 18k gold nib, an ebonite feed, and a design lineage traceable to people who once worked at the Omas factory, which explains the familiar nib style. It is expensive, it is distinctive, and it is not going to be for everyone. Here is what you should know before considering one.
The Arrivederle Stelle Finish
The finish takes its name from a line at the end of the first canto of Dante’s Inferno, “to see the stars once again.” The theme is carried out literally: up close, the deep blue resin looks like a starry night, with fine speckles scattered across the surface like a field of stars. At a distance the effect is subtle, but in hand it is genuinely striking.
It is a beautiful finish, and it is hard not to keep picking the pen up just to look at it. If the standard Feel designs appeal to you at all, this material elevates the whole experience.

Packaging and Accessories
The pen arrives in a compact box with a magnetic closure, along with paperwork tucked underneath. The pen itself is wrapped in paper rather than plastic, a small but welcome touch for recyclability.
Two accessories stand out. First, a leather and canvas pen wrap that holds the Feel plus a second pen, which is handy if you add another pen later. Second, a proper polishing cloth, which is a thoughtful inclusion on an expensive pen. The canvas is strong and well made, and the whole package feels considered rather than perfunctory. It is a genuinely complete set.
Design and Build
The Feel has a slightly bulbous silhouette with rounded cap and barrel ends that some people find playful and others find polarizing. The clip has a ski-slope-like curve that is tight but still easy to work with, and the Scribo quill logo is simple and attractive. The center band reads Scribo on one side and Feel on the other.
The resin is faceted, and the facets on the cap and barrel line up reasonably well, if not perfectly. A nice detail runs through the center band too: a fine ribbed texture that catches the light.
Nib Options and the Triple Broad
Scribo offers a wide nib range, from extra extra fine and extra fine through fine, medium, and broad, plus stub, triple broad, and an extra flexibility option. The triple broad and stub nibs cost extra: 98 euros and 36 cents on top of the base pen, which is listed at 581 euros and 97 cents on the Scribo website without European VAT. That puts a triple broad configuration well over 600 euros.
The nib itself is an 18k 750 with a Scribo hallmark and an Omas-style design, paired with an ebonite feed. The triple broad carries a serious ball of tipping material, visible even to the naked eye. It is a chunky, juicy writer, not overly wet, and it keeps up well when writing quickly. On Rhodia paper it behaved better than expected, with only occasional hard starts that recovered quickly.
Because of its shape, the nib produces a slight stub-like quality: diagonal strokes in one direction come out narrower than strokes in the other, giving a touch of natural line variation without any flex. This is not a flex nib, and the nibs are relatively soft, so do not push them. If flex is what you want, buy the flexible nib option instead.

Things to Consider Before Buying
A few caveats are worth knowing. There is no ink window, so you cannot see how much ink remains in the piston reservoir. The pens do not post, which matters if you like writing with the cap on the back. And the section, while long and comfortable with facets that transition into a round shape, has a fairly substantial step down from the barrel. It is not sharp or unpleasant, but it is noticeable. Dry the metal ring near the nib carefully after filling, as metal in contact with ink can corrode over time.
The bigger caveat is the nib itself. On very smooth paper, especially with broad nibs, over-polishing can cause skipping, and this triple broad was picky about its sweet spot. It performed well on Rhodia but skipped more on another smooth notebook paper. It is hard to know whether every nib behaves this way or just this example, so it is worth trying the pen first, checking the exchange policy, or budgeting for a nibmeister adjustment.

Reverse writing is an interesting quirk: rather than making the line finer, it makes the stub-like quality even more pronounced, and the nib runs very wet in that mode without running dry.

Buying Advice
At 581 euros and 97 cents for the base pen plus 98 euros and 36 cents for the triple broad, this is by any measure a premium purchase. What you get for that money is a piston filler, a gold nib, an ebonite feed, a genuinely special material, and a complete accessory set including a quality pen wrap and polishing cloth. If you love the look and want a big, expressive nib, the value proposition holds up on its own terms.
If budget matters, consider a standard nib width rather than paying the surcharge for the triple broad or stub. And if you do go broad, factor in the possibility of a nib tune-up.
Conclusion
The Scribo Feel Arrivederle Stelle is a pen that wins on emotion: a starry finish that is genuinely fun to look at, a comfortable faceted section, and a triple broad nib you rarely see anymore. The trade-offs are real, from the missing ink window to the picky sweet spot on smooth paper, and the price is high. But for collectors and enthusiasts who connect with the material and want that oversized nib experience, it delivers something few pens at any price can.
