Ryobi Summer Tool Update: 8 New Tools and Lifestyle Releases Worth a Look
From a 20-inch brushless chainsaw to a wall-mounted workbench, here are eight recent Ryobi releases that caught our attention this season.
Introduction
Ryobi puts out a lot of new products every year, covering everything from power tools to lawn care and even lifestyle gear. It can be hard to keep track of it all, so this seasonal roundup pulls together the releases that stood out to us. Some are serious outdoor power equipment upgrades, others solve small garage and household problems, and a couple are just clever conveniences.
Ryobi 40V HP Brushless 20 in. Chainsaw
The 40V HP Brushless 20 in. Chainsaw is the headline act of this update. It is Ryobi’s second-generation cordless 20-inch chainsaw, with power equivalent to a 52cc gas engine. This generation brings more power and a slightly lighter build than the previous 20-inch model.
The brushless motor spins the chain at up to 24.5 m/s for quick cutting in lumber up to 36 inches in diameter. Ryobi estimates up to 100 cuts per charge on a single 40V 8Ah battery. It weighs just 13.1 lb bare and runs a 3/8 in pitch chain, and it is available as a bare tool for $349.

Ryobi 18V Swift Clean Cordless Carpet Washer PBLUV750
At the other end of the spectrum sits the 18V Swift Clean Cordless Carpet Washer, a household cleaner designed to restore carpets without needing a wall outlet. If you are a homeowner or renter already using Ryobi’s 18V platform, it is about as close to a no-brainer solution for keeping carpets clean as we can think of, especially with kids or pets around.
The controls are simple: push it forward to dispense cleaning solution, pull it back to extract with the vacuum system. Multiple cleaning modes make it versatile, including spot mode and dry only mode. Run time reaches up to 76 minutes using a pair of 4Ah batteries. It costs $299 as a bare tool, or $399 as a kit with two 4Ah batteries and a charger.

Ryobi 18V Dual Function Automotive Creeper Seat PCL692
For garage tinkering, the 18V Dual Function Automotive Creeper Seat adjusts between a creeper and a seat, letting you work at any angle around your vehicle. Whether you are under the car for an oil change or beside it fitting a tire, transitioning between the two positions is easy.
It is an 18V tool because of the two flexible onboard LED work lights. Work lights on creepers are not new, but pairing them with the adjustable seat design is a fresh take. There is also onboard tool and accessory storage. The bare tool runs $159.
Ryobi 40V HP Brushless 21 in. Self-Propelled Lawn Mower RY40HP LMO2
Ryobi’s first-generation CrossCut self-propelled mower launched in early 2021 and was a big hit, pushing the brand into pro-level cordless performance. The latest generation, the RY40HP LMO2, improves on the areas that needed work and raises performance into what Ryobi describes as commercial-grade cordless mower territory.
With dual stacked CrossCut blades, it delivers better cut quality and effective clipping discharge. It throws grass out the side chute, bags better, and handles difficult mowing conditions with ease. Ryobi claims it rivals 170cc gas mowers, with a 21-inch deck and 9.7 ft-lbs of torque, a claim we do not really disagree with. The kit costs $649 and includes two 6Ah 40V batteries and a charger.

Ryobi Stowaway Wall-Mounted Workbench STM408
For smaller garages and workshops, the Stowaway Wall-Mounted Workbench is a genuine space-saver. It features a 44 x 22 inch solid wood work surface and folds down when not in use, leaving a small ledge for storage while still letting you park your car.
Convenience details include one-handed locking operation and soft-close functionality. Installation took less than 30 minutes and required only basic tools. It has a 300 lb capacity and costs $99 at The Home Depot.
Ryobi 18V/40V Dual Platform Charger
If you own tools on both Ryobi’s 18V and 40V platforms, the Dual Platform Charger is a practical way to charge both systems from a single unit. Ryobi claims it is their fastest 18V 1+ charger to date, offering six times faster charge rates than the PCG002 charger, and it charges 40V batteries up to four times faster than the entry-level OP403A.
Active cooling reduces charge time, since the battery no longer has to wait to cool down before charging. It can be wall mounted or used on a flat surface, with rubber feet and keyhole mounting options included. It costs $99.
Ryobi 40V Whisper Series Handheld Blower 800 CFM
The first of two blowers is a 40V handheld unit with 800 CFM of blowing force, matching the power of a 31cc gas blower. As part of Ryobi’s Whisper series, it runs up to 82% quieter than comparable gas units.
Ryobi estimates up to 85 minutes of trigger time on low using a 40V 8Ah battery. It is so new that pricing has not been announced yet.
Ryobi 40V HP Brushless 850 CFM Backpack Blower RY40HP BL02
If you would rather move the weight off your arm and onto your back, the 40V HP Brushless 850 CFM Backpack Blower targets larger properties. It is by far Ryobi’s strongest blower, delivering more power than a 58cc gas unit, and it is also part of the Whisper series, running up to 83% quieter than comparable gas blowers.
It is 40% lighter than the brand’s previous backpack blower, the RY404170, and Ryobi expects around 2 hours of run time on low with a pair of 8Ah batteries. It is coming soon to The Home Depot.

Overall Buying Advice
If you are already invested in Ryobi’s 18V or 40V platforms, most of these releases slot in neatly, and the dual-platform charger makes mixed collections easier to manage. For outdoor power equipment, the 20-inch chainsaw and the new self-propelled mower represent the biggest performance jumps. For around the house, the carpet washer and the wall-mounted workbench solve real, everyday problems at reasonable prices. If you want maximum blowing power without the noise, wait for the backpack blower to land at retail.
Conclusion
This seasonal batch shows Ryobi continuing to push cordless performance closer to gas-equivalent levels, while also rounding out the smaller conveniences that make a garage or household run smoother. Whether the chainsaw, mower, or the space-saving workbench fits your needs best, there is a clear use case for each of these releases.
