Now Select Pro Binding Review: Stiff, Damp, and Built for Aggressive Riding

A closer look at the Now Select Pro snowboard binding: upgraded straps, easy adjustability, and a ride that suits aggressive park and all-mountain riders.

Introduction

The Now Select Pro sits firmly in the performance tier of the Now binding lineup, aimed at riders who want a stiff, responsive feel without giving up every bit of lateral freedom. After riding it through a full day of spring conditions, it proved to be a binding with a very specific personality: damp, planted, and responsive, with just enough play for presses and tweaks.

Testing Conditions and Setup

The Select Pro was ridden on a warm spring day with soft, creamy snow that stayed consistent from morning through the afternoon. Conditions turned slightly overcast later in the day, but the snow quality never became a concern, which makes for a fair reading of how the binding actually performs.

The test setup paired the binding with Ride Fuse boots on a K2 Manifest board, a combination that let the binding’s character come through clearly rather than being masked by softer gear.

Adjustability and Bushings

Adjustability is simple in the way Now bindings tend to be. A toolless adjustment flap flips up to reveal a Phillips head screw if you need a bit more force, and the forward lean adjuster at the back is an easy tab system you can operate without tools. It is the kind of setup that lets you make changes on the go when terrain shifts.

The binding comes equipped with medium durometer bushings, and those can be swapped for soft or harder bushings to tune the ride feel. That flexibility matters for a binding pitched at riders who push hard.

Straps and Entry

The straps see meaningful upgrades on the Select Pro, particularly the ankle strap, which is now fully molded. It is not the stiffest strap on the market, but it delivers solid response while still allowing a touch of lateral play for tweaks. The toe strap gets a new hinge point that stays out of the way when you are getting in and out of the binding, which makes entry noticeably smoother.

The ratchets work extremely well, a hallmark of Now bindings across the range. You can release them with one finger, they grip gloves well, and getting in and out is genuinely easy. There is very little to worry about here.

On-Snow Performance

The highback offers strong heel and toe response while retaining some lateral play for tweaks, presses, and butters. The toolless forward lean adjustment is right there on the highback, so you can pop it into a more supportive setting when the terrain demands it.

Overall, the Select Pro rides on the stiffer side, a bit firmer than the middle of the road. Lateral play exists but is more limited than on something like the Brigade. Heel and toe response is where it shines: the straps hold you in well and the highback delivers clean, predictable drive.

Where the binding really earns its keep is in the damp ride quality. You can feel the canting under the footbed, and when you drive into turns using your back foot, it translates power into the board in a satisfying, direct way. Presses and butters are still available when you want them, without ever feeling locked in.

Buying Advice

The Select Pro is built for the aggressive park rider, or anyone who wants to turn the whole mountain into their own park. It rewards riders who charge into bigger lines but still want enough play to press and butter without feeling restrained.

Comparable bindings worth considering include the Jones Meteorite Surf Series, the Union Force, and the Salomon Hologram. If you value dampness, response, and easy entry over maximum mobility, the Select Pro holds its own in that company.

Conclusion

The Now Select Pro is a well-rounded stiff binding with excellent response, a damp ride, upgraded straps, and the kind of toolless adjustability you can use mid-day. It is best suited to aggressive park laps and all-mountain riding where power transfer matters. If that describes your style, it is an easy recommendation.
