Megapro 30th Anniversary Screwdriver Set: Three Drivers Worth a Look

A limited edition kit celebrating 30 years of Megapro, bundling the 15-in-1, the 30U Ratcheting, and the 24-in-1 Precision screwdriver in classic colors.

Introduction

Megapro has been building multi-bit screwdrivers for 30 years, from patents filed in 1992 through the launch of its first driver. To mark the anniversary, the company put together a limited edition set that bundles three of its bestselling screwdrivers in the classic colors, all in one heavy-duty blow-molded case with latches. The drivers are designed, assembled, inspected, and packed by the Megapro family in Canada and the US.

This set is a good entry point if you want one well-organized screwdriver kit rather than a drawer full of loose drivers. Below we break down each of the three tools so you can see which one earns its spot for the kind of work you do.

What Is in the Anniversary Kit

The kit arrives in a heavy-duty blow-molded case with latches, and everything is built around the same core idea: a multi-bit driver that stores its bits in the handle. Megapro specializes in screwdrivers, bits, and bit accessories, and the company backs these drivers with a lifetime warranty. Replacement bits can be requested online if you lose one.

The bits themselves are held by a ball detent system, and the fit is snug with very little play, so bits do not fall out in use. That same detent design also allows double-sided storage, which is how these handles pack so many bits into a compact body.

Megapro 15-in-1: The Original Design

The 15-in-1 is the driver that started it all, presented here in the original blue and yellow colors. It has a spinning collar at the back and a bit carousel in the handle that pops open to reveal seven bits. The complement covers common Phillips, slotted, four larger Torx, and four square sizes, which handles the standard complement for most household chores.

The bit carousel runs silky smooth with a nice positive capture, so it does not pop open on its own. This is the one to pick if you want a dependable single driver for general tasks around the house.

Megapro 30U Ratcheting Screwdriver

The 30U adds a ratcheting mechanism to the same multi-bit formula. The collar switches between forward, reverse, and center with a very small motion, much quicker than drivers that require a long twist to change direction. The zinc ratcheting mechanism is silky smooth, and there is very little back-drag, so the driver spins freely in free mode.

This version uses a rubberized over-mold grip and a slightly narrower bit chamber with six bits: Phillips, two square, and four Torx. One trade-off to know: a traditional quarter-inch bit will just float in the chamber because it lacks the detent notch, so you need Megapro’s own bits for a secure fit. The rotation direction is the opposite of what some tool brands use, but consistent with most other screwdrivers.

Megapro 24-in-1 Precision Screwdriver

The 24-in-1 Precision is the newest of the three and the one that generated the most excitement. It uses larger double-ended bits held in place by a magnet inside the shaft, each bit Megapro branded and clearly marked with its size. The bit tip pops in magnetically and sits securely.

The set covers precision work, including a P5 bit for opening an iPhone, which works smoothly. The bits are 4mm, so you can substitute your favorite 4mm specialty bits from other brands if a driver supports them. The handle has a 360-degree grippy surface with a bit of texture providing flat surfaces for extra purchase, and it is nice to have a larger precision driver rather than the tiny ones that are hard to control.

Buying Advice

The kit retails for $125, and Megapro’s website has been running a 25% off sale, which makes it a notably better deal if the discount is still active. If you only need one driver, the 15-in-1 is the safest all-around pick. If you do repetitive fastening, the 30U ratcheting saves effort. If you work on phones, laptops, or small electronics, the 24-in-1 Precision justifies the kit on its own.

Since this is a limited 30th anniversary edition, availability may be time-limited, and it is worth checking current stock and pricing before committing.

Conclusion

Thirty years of refining one product shows. All three drivers feel well built, with smooth mechanisms, secure bit retention, and a lifetime warranty behind them. The anniversary set works as a complete kit for general repairs, ratcheting fastening, and precision electronics work in one case, and it is an easy recommendation if that spread matches your needs.
