Lululemon Blissfeel Review: A Women-First Everyday Running Shoe
Lululemon's first running shoe is built for easy miles, not race day. Here is how it fits, feels, and runs.
Introduction
The Blissfeel is Lululemon’s first ever running shoe, and it arrives with a clear identity: this is a shoe designed for everyday easy miles, not for speed. It is not a fast shoe and it is not a particularly light one, but it is comfortable underfoot, thoughtfully constructed, and a surprisingly solid first effort from a brand best known for clothing.
Fit and Sizing
The Blissfeel comes up small in the foot. A runner who typically wears a UK five in nearly every brand still had only about a thumb’s width of room at the toe in a UK five and a half. Lululemon itself recommends sizing up, particularly for wider feet, and that advice holds up.
The upper is super soft and plush, the tongue carries a generous amount of cushioning, and the overall step-in feel is comfortable from the first run.

Design Built Around Women’s Feet
This is a shoe designed for women first. Lululemon says it looked at over a thousand scans of women’s feet to shape the build, including angling the heel to better support a woman’s heel strike. A men’s version was planned for 2023, but for now only the women’s model exists, in ten different colorways.
The shoe also includes plastic support rails, which Lululemon calls a heel clip, to keep the foot locked in place. They work well: no heel slipping during testing, and a nice amount of arch support even for runners with particularly high arches.

The Run Test
Over a week of testing that included long runs, easy miles, and a 5K race, the Blissfeel confirmed its positioning. It is responsive enough, but the cushioning underfoot is on the firmer, flatter side. Lululemon has said little about the foam, but the feel is closer to a harder, denser foam than a springy, bouncy one. There is real cushioning there, just not an immediate super-cushioned sensation.
For easy runs and long runs, it is exactly what the brand promised: a shoe you put on, forget about, and just run in. It is not designed for speed sessions, and it should not be marked down for failing at a job it was never built to do.

Things to Consider Before Buying
Versatility is the main trade-off. Comparable everyday shoes at a similar price point, such as the Pegasus or the Ultraboost, can stretch to a half marathon or a race. The Blissfeel feels less versatile than that. After a quicker 5K, one tester experienced some hip pain, likely from the firmer platform under a heavier, stompy stride.

Buying Advice
Size up, especially if you have wider feet. Choose the Blissfeel if you want a comfortable, women-specific shoe for daily easy miles up to around 10K. Distance runners and anyone chasing faster pace should look elsewhere.
Conclusion
The Blissfeel is a good first effort and a genuinely pleasant everyday running shoe. It does one job well, and as long as you match it to that job, it is easy to enjoy running in.
