Leatherman Super Tool 300M: Unboxing the Highest-Value Leatherman in the Lineup

A fresh-from-the-factory look at the Super Tool 300M, verifying exactly what ships in the box and why it may be the best value Leatherman currently available.

Introduction

The Super Tool 300M has become one of the more talked-about Leatherman models for 2026, and for good reason. It is one of the few tools in the lineup that ships bundled with meaningful accessories, yet plenty of buyers have questioned whether those extras actually come in the box.

To settle the confusion once and for all, we ordered one directly from Leatherman’s own website and opened it fresh from the factory. The verdict: everything is there, and the value proposition is even better than expected.

Who This Product Is For

The Super Tool 300M is aimed at buyers who want a full-size, hard-working multi-tool with a military-inspired twist. It suits firearm owners who want a cleaning-rod capable tool, anyone who values a beefy pry tool, and buyers who want maximum accessories per dollar. It is also a strong fit for people frustrated by Leatherman’s higher-priced premium models that do not include a sheath or bits.

What Ships in the Box

The package itself does a lot of the talking before you even cut the seal. Printed on the box it states that the Super Tool 300M includes a sight adjuster, a MOLLE sheath, and a bit kit.

Opening it confirms the full bundle: the tool itself, a MOLLE sheath, a bit extender, and a bit kit with ten bits. The sheath arrives empty inside, but the bit kit and extender sit at the bottom of the packaging. Nothing has been quietly dropped from the bundle.

Part of the confusion comes from the base model Super Tool 300, which ships by itself with no accessories at all. The 300M is the version to look for if the extras matter to you.

Bundled Accessories Worth Real Money

The accessories add up quickly. The MOLLE sheath is valued at around $25 on its own. The half bit kit, with ten bits, is worth about $20. The sight-adjusting bit extender, priced at roughly $25 to $30, accepts Leatherman bits as well as Wiha double-sided bits and standard quarter-inch drivers.

Do the math and the bundle is worth approximately $70 to $75 on top of the tool. At full price, that effectively works out to paying around $55 for the Super Tool 300M itself. That makes it the highest-value Leatherman currently in the lineup.

Tools You Won’t Find Elsewhere

Beyond the bundle, the 300M carries several features that set it apart from the standard Super Tool 300. The reamer and awl is unusually long and slightly thicker than most, reaching considerably deeper than what other models offer. There is also a large, beefy pry tool, reportedly the biggest one found on any Leatherman.

Unlike most Super Tool 300 variants, this model uses the Leatherman flat bit system instead of the usual Phillips driver, and the large flathead has been removed. The rest of the loadout includes a serrated blade, a small flathead, a can opener, bottle opener, file, and straight blade.

One standout detail is the hole in the frame with threading that runs directly into the plier, designed for firearm cleaning rods. It is also an adaptable mounting point with potential for clever third-party uses, such as turning the tool into a handle for a reciprocating saw blade holder.

Things to Consider Before Buying

Leatherman’s product descriptions mention the sheath and bit extender but never explicitly confirm the bit kit, which is part of why buyers have doubted the bundle. The physical packaging and fresh unboxing confirm it is included.

There is also a durability question hanging over the model. Based on Leatherman’s track record, there is a real possibility the 300M could be discontinued before the next sale cycle. If you want it, buying sooner rather than later is the safer move.

Buying Advice

If a sale is running, do not rely solely on Leatherman’s sale tab. Items sometimes go on sale without appearing in that section, so search explicitly for the Super Tool 300 rather than shorthand like ST300, and confirm the discount is applied before checking out.

At full price the value is already strong thanks to the roughly $70 to $75 in bundled accessories. During a promotional window, it becomes one of the cheapest ways to get a complete full-size multi-tool setup, undercutting far more expensive models in the lineup.

Conclusion

The Super Tool 300M delivers exactly what it promises: a rugged full-size multi-tool with a long reamer, the largest pry tool in the Leatherman range, a threaded cleaning-rod port, and a generous accessory bundle worth around $70 to $75. As a complete package, it is arguably the highest-value Leatherman you can buy right now. If it is on your shortlist, act while it is still available.
