Rare Gadgets Worth Your Adult Money: Keycaps, Trimmers, Retro Handhelds and More

Introduction

Adult money means finally buying all those strange, delightful things you could never justify as a kid. This overview brings together a mix of handmade keyboard accessories, grooming tools with a genuinely good cause behind them, pocket-sized retro handhelds, and an unusually tough wallet. Some are pure fun. Some are quietly practical. A few are both.

Scraft Pokémon Keycaps

These handmade keycaps are beautifully finished and a charming addition to a small keyboard collection. The original starter designs remain the favorite, and the included Great Ball keycap holders are a clever touch that honestly deserve to be sold separately. They work best on standard mechanical keyboards; on a low-profile board the fit is not ideal, but that is part of the charming clumsiness. Drops sell out quickly, so if a design catches your eye, it is wise to act fast.

Manscaped TCS Ball Hero Bundle

Manscaped has partnered with the Testicular Cancer Society for a special edition bundle that supports a genuinely important cause: testicular cancer is the most common form of cancer in men aged 15 to 35, and one man is diagnosed every hour. The bundle combines a special edition trimmer with matching boxer briefs, both in an exclusive purple design.

The Lawnmower 5.0 Ultra TCS Special Edition is a cordless, waterproof trimmer that you can use in the shower and that is easy to clean. The wider, rounder teeth of the new blades glide smoothly through hair, and the skin-safe technology is gentle, requires fewer passes, and reduces the chance of nicks. Swap in the foil blade for an even closer result, and the built-in LED helps to catch every spot. Wireless charging and a travel lock make it easy to take with you.

The Special Edition TCS Boxers 2.0 come in purple camo with an anti-chafing, breathable, supportive design, including a double pouch, plus a friendly reminder on the inside to check yourself. Supply is limited, so these will not last long.

Covert Instruments Gravity Tool

Even if lock picking has never crossed your mind, the Gravity Tool is a genuinely fun piece of metal to fidget with. It is arguably the most useful fidget toy there is, precisely because it actually does something: it works as a real tool, and it feels great in the hand. It is also one of the few gravity-style tools that appears to be legal in Canada, though that claim comes with the strong caveat that you should check the local rules yourself.

GKD Pixel 2

The GKD Pixel 2 builds on an already beloved pocket emulator. The metal body gives it a solid, durable feel that survives the pocket without a worry, and it is easily the best-feeling handheld of its kind tested. Performance is not class-leading, but for Game Boy-era games it is essentially perfect. It slides into your pocket, starts conversations, and looks sharp while doing so.

Miyoo Mini 4

The Miyoo Mini 4 is a close cousin in size to the GKD Pixel 2, but with a fully plastic body instead of metal. It is slightly larger for better ergonomics, and the layout of the shoulder buttons is noticeably improved. Just like the Pixel 2, it is best reserved for Game Boy-era titles. At just over half the price of its metal sibling, it makes a very strong case as a gift for anyone curious about retro handhelds.

Proof Wallets

Proof Wallets makes leather and metal wallet combinations with a distinct industrial-cowboy character. The claimed capacity is up to 25 cards and 20 bills, and in practice at least eight cards fit comfortably, held together by a giant elastic band. A quick-access pull tab and a shake test in which everything stayed firmly in place make this a solid contender for the toughest slim wallet around. It even stores the included key tool on the inside.

Buying Advice

If you want something practical with a meaningful purpose behind it, the Manscaped TCS bundle is the standout, and the limited supply means that hesitation has a real cost. For pocket gaming, choose the GKD Pixel 2 for build quality and the Miyoo Mini 4 for value and ergonomics. Keycap collectors should keep a close eye on Scraft drops, and anyone tired of flimsy wallets will appreciate what Proof Wallets has to offer.

Conclusion

The best impulse buys are the ones that either give you joy every time you touch them or quietly solve a problem you had stopped noticing. This list covers both ends, and every pick here earns its place on the desk, in the pocket, or in the shower.
