Ysmart Bullet Review: A Tiny Keychain Flashlight With One Great Trick
A 100-lumen pop-to-light keychain flashlight in titanium or brass that turns on the moment you pull it from its magnetic base.
Introduction
The Ysmart Bullet has quietly become my favorite everyday carry keychain flashlight. It arrived after a crowdfunding campaign about a month before this review, and it has lived on my keychain ever since. The appeal is not raw power; it is convenience. When you need a quick burst of light, you pull the light from its magnetic base and it turns on instantly. Reattach it and the light switches off. That single interaction is what makes this tiny flashlight so easy to recommend.

Who This Product Is For
This is a light for people who want a no-fuss backup on their keyring. The Bullet outputs 100 lumens from a single micro SMD LED at a cool color temperature around 6,000 Kelvin, with a fairly even beam profile and no obvious hotspot. There is exactly one mode: pull the base and you get 100 lumens, no more, no less. For most everyday tasks, finding a keyhole, navigating a dark mudroom, or digging through a bag, that is plenty.
The Pop-to-Light Mechanism
The core feature is the magnetic base. A small stem on the base fits into a hole in the light body, and neodymium magnets hold the two together with a stated 4.8 pounds of pulling force. Pull them apart and the light activates; slide them back together and it deactivates.

The stem is a design choice worth knowing about. When reattaching the light on a keychain, the stem has to line up with the hole, and the strong magnets can make slightly misaligned attempts feel fiddly. On the other hand, once attached, the stem keeps the light aligned on the keyring so it does not rotate freely the way two flat magnetic surfaces would. On a flat table you can skip the alignment entirely: bring the light close to the base and the magnets snap it into place every time.
Size, Weight and Materials
Both versions measure 4.1 centimeters (about 1.61 inches) long and roughly 1 centimeter (0.39 inches) wide, which puts them comfortably smaller than a US quarter. The titanium version weighs about 12 grams, and the brass version about 18 grams.
The Bullet comes in titanium or brass. Note the brass: the campaign originally advertised a pure copper body, but the finished product is a copper and zinc alloy, which is technically brass. The maker acknowledged the mix-up and told backers the price paid matched the brass version, offering vouchers or an option to return the light for a more expensive pure copper version. For most buyers, brass is a perfectly good material at this size.
Two things are not included in the box: a keyring and batteries. The light takes three LR41/AG3 button cell batteries, inserted by twisting the body apart at the center. Budget for both if you order one.

Things to Consider Before Buying
There are a few trade-offs to weigh. The single mode means no brightness adjustment, so if you want a dim moonlight setting or a turbo burst, this is not that light. The 6,000 Kelvin cool white output is functional but not warm or high-CRI. The magnetic connection is genuinely strong once attached, though lifting heavy objects purely on magnet pull is optimistic; a 2.5-pound weight lifted briefly but slipped off with any movement. Finally, the tail end has six slots designed for optional luminous vials if you want a glow-in-the-dark base, though tritium vials are not offered since they are restricted in some regions.
Buying Advice
The Ysmart Bullet makes the most sense as a convenience light rather than a primary flashlight. If your use case is quick bursts of light around the house, in the car, or on a dark porch, the instant-on magnetic design is hard to beat at this size. Just remember to add batteries and a keyring to your order, and choose titanium if you want the lightest option or brass if you prefer the warmer metal and a bit more heft.

Conclusion
The Ysmart Bullet is not the brightest keychain flashlight available, and it does not try to be. What it offers is a genuinely clever pop-to-light mechanism, a tiny footprint, and two attractive metal options. As an everyday carry companion that is always where you need it, it is easy to love.
