Tourist Camp Grain Wallet Review: Handmade Leather Wrap Wallet with a Coin Pouch Twist
A vertical leather wrap wallet handmade in Singapore from Italian Bater leather, with an unusual coin pouch and key holder layout that makes it genuinely versatile.
Introduction
The Tourist Camp Grain Wallet is a vertical style leather wrap wallet with a top flap, handmade in Singapore from full grain vegetable tan Bater leather sourced from the Conseria Wier tannery in Italy. It is available in three versions: the Grain Wallet Cards, the Grain Wallet Mini, and the Grain Wallet Coin Pouch and Key Holder reviewed here. Each comes in a left-handed or right-handed orientation and in a standard or small size. The standard holds up to nine credit cards, while the small holds up to six.
Leather Quality and Craftsmanship
The leather here is a 3 oz Bater, which is thinner than the 4 to 5 oz many wallet enthusiasts prefer, but that trade-off translates directly into a slimmer carry. Thin does not mean cheap: Bater is regarded as one of the best Italian leathers in the world, and this wallet should easily last a lifetime with normal use.

Construction details hold up under scrutiny. The single stitch point at the bottom features a flawless hand saddle stitch, edges are nicely burnished and polished, and even the inside cuts are finished cleanly. The coin pouch and key holder version adds interior stitching to form the key holder, and the work there is equally tidy. Tourist Camp describes the Grain Wallet as a single piece of leather wrapped around and stitched at the bottom, and while the wrap construction is visible, the coin pouch appears to be a separate panel. That ambiguity aside, the workmanship is top-notch, and the leather smells every bit as good as it looks.
Design and Styling
Opening the top flap reveals the cash compartment at the back of the wallet. Working from back to front, you get the coin pouch, then a spot for a single key, then the main center card pocket, and finally a quick access front pocket that doubles as the tuck closure. That front pocket has a diagonal cut that makes grabbing cards easy, and the coin pouch has a small notch so you can pull the leather back to reach your coins.

One clever touch is that the flap can be tucked into any of the front pockets, not just the quick access one. You can use the larger center pocket or even the coin pouch as the closure, so the wallet adapts to how you actually carry. Branding is minimal: a small Tourist Camp logo on the lower right of the back, plus an optional stamp on the inside flap you can choose to include or leave off.
Cash, Cards, Coins, and AirTag Test
Loaded with eight credit cards, 15 bills folded in half, four quarters, and a key, the standard size Grain Wallet takes it like a champ. The center pocket swallows seven cards with room to spare, the front quick access pocket holds the everyday card, and folded American dollar bills fit the cash compartment without fuss.

The coin pouch is the most versatile part of the design. It easily fits an Apple AirTag, and in fact can hold two, along with spare coins or extra keys that will not fit the single key slot. Coins themselves can be slightly awkward to remove: tipping the wallet upside down to dump them tends to bring the cards along, so you need to hold the cards in with a finger while retrieving coins. For anyone who rarely carries coins, using that pouch for an AirTag or extra keys is the smarter play. The key holder itself is one of the better implementations around, with the key fitting snugly and securely.
Buying Advice
At 3.15 by 4.21 inches closed and just 1.7 oz (48 g), the Grain Wallet disappears in a pocket while still covering cards, cash, coins, a key, and even a tracker. If you carry fewer than six cards, the small size or the Cards version may suit you better, and the Mini rounds out the lineup for minimalists. If you live somewhere coins are part of daily life, or you want an AirTag-friendly wallet with a key slot, the Coin Pouch and Key Holder version is the one to get.
Conclusion
Tourist Camp has proven it makes fantastic wallets. The Grain Wallet pairs world-class Italian leather with genuinely careful handwork, and the coin pouch and key holder layout sets it apart from the many leather wrap wallets that look similar on the surface. Outside of the minor coin-removal quirk, there is very little to fault here.
