Speak Easy Leather Dillinger CC Review: A Limited Concealed-Carry Wallet
A limited run of 100 units of the Dillinger CC adds a hidden inside pocket, concealed snaps, and one fixed colorway to an already excellent minimalist wallet.
Introduction
Speak Easy Leather is back with a follow-up to the Dillinger, the wallet that quickly became a favorite among minimalist wallet fans after its launch about ten months ago. The new Dillinger CC takes that proven design and adds a few refinements, but with a catch: it is limited to just 100 units, and this is the only color combination available for the release.
What Makes the Dillinger CC Different
The CC in the name stands for concealed carry, and it refers to the wallet’s headline feature: a hidden pocket on the inside, covered by the flap. The colorway is fixed for this limited run, with black Batley Carlo Pueblo leather on the outside, red Batley Carlo Pueblo on the inside pocket, red hand-set stitching on the bottom, and silver hand-set stitching on the flap.

Because only 100 units exist, if you pick one up there will be only 99 other people in the world carrying this exact wallet and color combination. The maker has hinted that if demand remains after the initial run sells out, more may be made, but not exactly like this one, which could point toward future releases with different colors or stitching.
The Hidden Pocket
The concealed pocket is surprisingly generous. It takes up almost the entire flap, so beyond carrying a Speak Easy Leather coin, it comfortably fits an Apple AirTag or even extra house keys, with enough room for two keys at once.

One practical note: if you carry a coin in the pocket as intended, a slight indent can show on the outside of the wallet over time. That is worth knowing if you plan to use it for anything with a rigid edge.
The Original Dillinger Still Exists
The original Dillinger remains available, so this is not a replacement. The standard version keeps exposed barrel snaps, has no interior flap pocket, and offers custom options for leather color, thread color, and snaps. The CC trades that customization for its fixed colorway, hidden pocket, and limited status, and its logo cannot be swapped the way it can on regular Speak Easy wallets.
Concealed Snaps and a Fixed Design
The other visible change on the CC is that the stacked barrel snaps are now hidden. Place the two wallets side by side and you can see the original Dillinger’s exposed snaps versus the smooth, clean profile of the CC.

Card and cash functionality is otherwise identical. The Dillinger is a vertical minimalist wallet with a flap and two stacked barrel snaps. Inside are two pockets for cards and bills that hold between six and seven cards or 17 to 20 bills depending on the combination. The leather is 4.5 oz full grain Batley Carlo Pueblo, the closed dimensions are 2 7/8 inches by 4 inches, and the CC weighs 1.8 oz, or 50 grams. Everything is handmade and hand-stitched in Cleveland, Ohio, in the USA.
Everyday Carry Performance
In daily use, the Dillinger format is extremely functional: slim, low-profile, and simple. A common setup is seven credit cards in the front pocket with about seven to ten bills folded in half in the back pocket, and bills fold in half rather than needing thirds or quarters.

Access is where the design shines. The large angled cut gives quick access to the top card, and a squeeze of the wallet lets you pull all cards out at once. A single stitch point in the upper left-hand corner creates tension at the top, so when the wallet is closed, cards will not slip out on their own.
Availability and Lead Times
Patience has been part of the story here. After the original Dillinger launch, demand surged to roughly 2,000 to 3,000 orders in about a month, roughly a year’s worth of work for a single maker handcrafting each wallet. Standard turnaround of about 12 weeks stretched to five months, and extra hands have since been hired to keep up.
The silver lining is a new ready-to-ship section on the website, where items are available immediately, while custom orders still take longer and cost a little more. The Dillinger CC itself was available through the launch link, with a 10% discount code offered alongside it.
Buying Advice
If you value exclusivity and the hidden pocket, the Dillinger CC is the one to watch, but you need to accept the fixed colorway, the fixed logo, and the fact that only 100 exist. If you prefer customization or simply want the same core wallet without the hype, the original Dillinger remains a superb choice and, for many, one of the best minimalist wallets available at any price.
Conclusion
The Dillinger CC is a smart evolution of an already excellent wallet: same slim, functional design, plus a genuinely useful hidden pocket and a cleaner snap-less exterior. The 100-unit limit and fixed colorway make it a collector’s pick, while the original Dillinger stays the practical everyday option. Either way, you are getting a handmade, hand-stitched wallet built to last a lifetime.
