Seadon Running Outerwear Review: Gale Jacket FL, Trailblazer T and Day Maker Tee
After two months of testing Seadon's running outerwear, here's how the Gale Jacket FL, Trailblazer T and Day Maker Tee stack up for spring running.
Introduction
Seadon, whose name stands for “from the land to the sea,” sent over four pieces of running outerwear that have been in regular rotation for the past two months. After countless threshold runs, easy miles and gym sessions, three pieces stand out enough to deserve a proper breakdown: the Gale Jacket FL, the Trailblazer T and the Day Maker Tee.
The throughline across all three is the same: unusually soft fabric, strong anti-odor performance and small thoughtful details that suggest the brand designs for runners first. As of publishing, Seadon is also running a 25 percent off promotion on their website.
Seadon Gale Jacket FL: The Standout Windbreaker
If I had to pick a favorite, this is it, without hesitation. Weight and feel are the two main reasons. It is noticeably lighter than other windbreakers I own, and that difference is obvious the moment you put it on.

The details seal the deal. There are small vents under the armpits, which matter more than you’d think. On a windy 15K run at a fast pace, I didn’t overheat, but I also never felt exposed. The hood is a must for me: any windbreaker without one loses serious points. A cinch at the back keeps the hood snug so wind never reaches your ears or neck. And the elasticized cuffs keep wind from creeping up your arms when temperatures drop.
The Gale Jacket FL is 25 percent off as of publishing, though stock may not last long. It has quickly become my favorite windbreaker out of the dozen or so I own.
Seadon Trailblazer T: The Merino Wool Long Sleeve
This merino wool long sleeve is going to be my go-to for spring, specifically in that tricky temperature range between 35 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit. The merino composition handles odor remarkably well: I kept wearing it expecting it to develop that familiar running-shirt smell, and it simply never did.

It is not waterproof, but it is water resistant, which is a nice bonus for unpredictable spring weather. Seadon also adds a small fabric hook to all of their outerwear so you can hang the shirt anywhere to air out after a run. It is a minor detail that gets used constantly.

Seadon Day Maker Tee: For Easy Days and the Gym
The Day Maker Tee is not quite as lightweight as the Trailblazer, but it earns its place as my easy-day running shirt and gym staple. It comes in at 145 grams, with anti-odor stay-fresh technology, solid moisture wicking and eucalyptus fibers woven into the fabric that give it an exceptionally soft feel.
For the Trailblazer T short sleeve sibling, the story is similar: spills and stains from Saturday pancake breakfasts simply do not stick to the fabric, and it might be the softest t-shirt I have ever worn. It has a printed neck label instead of tags, and odor resistance that clearly outperforms other running tees. Once trail season opens, it will be my choice for long two-and-a-half to three-hour mountain runs, often paired with the Gale Jacket for windy moments in the hills.

Buying Advice
My rule of thumb with outerwear is simple: I want it to last a decade. If it does not, I am not interested. Based on the quality of the material across all three pieces, these feel built to go the distance. The Gale Jacket FL is the pick for windy spring running, the Trailblazer T covers the 35 to 50 degree window, and the Day Maker Tee handles easy days and gym work.
Conclusion
Seadon has earned a permanent spot in my running rotation. Lightweight design, genuinely soft fabrics, anti-odor performance and small practical touches like hang loops and tag-free necks make all three pieces easy to recommend. If you are refreshing your spring running kit, the Gale Jacket FL is where I would start.
