Propel Endeavor 2 GT Review: Comparing the S, Pro, and GT
A detailed look at the Propel Endeavor 2 series, covering the differences between the S, Pro, and new GT models.
Introduction
The Propel Endeavor series stands out in the electric skateboard market thanks to its unique approach to suspension. First introduced in 2021, the Endeavor was designed to keep the overall size relatively compact compared to other suspension boards, while still delivering genuine off-road capability. Propel calls this system their Urban Independent Suspension.
The latest addition to the lineup is the Endeavor 2 GT, joining the existing S and Pro models. All three boards share the same core platform, but they differ in battery capacity, speed controllers, and lighting. This guide breaks down what each model offers so you can decide which one fits your riding style.

Design and Build
All three Endeavor 2 models share the same dimensions. The board measures 1 meter in length, which is slightly shorter than most 2-in-1 all-terrain boards. The width, including the wheels, is 45 cm, roughly 50% wider than most 2-in-1 boards. That extra width contributes to excellent stability, especially at speed.
The Pro and GT models use a carbon fiber deck, while the S model uses a maple composite deck. The two decks are the same size but not exactly the same shape, and they are not interchangeable. The carbon fiber deck features a comfortable radial concave, and there are finger wells on the sides to help with grabbing the board while riding.
The standing area is a bit more cramped than some riders might prefer, partly because of the way the suspension components connect with the deck. Riders who like to cruise with both feet angled forward may find the space limiting. Foot bindings are available as a separate purchase for those who want them.

Suspension and Ride Quality
All three models use Propel’s Urban Independent Suspension system with adjustable coilover shocks and turning tensioners. The shock absorbers dampen the impact of bumps and cracks, and they keep the wheels in contact with the ground on uneven terrain. The turning tensioners function similarly to adjusting bushing tightness on regular skate trucks.
On regular street surfaces, the ride comfort is comparable to boards with similar size wheels on skate trucks. But in off-road situations like grass or cobblestone, the difference is remarkable. Paths that were completely unrideable on 2-in-1 boards become at least tolerable on the Endeavor.
The off-road capability sits somewhere between the smaller 2-in-1 boards and the much larger off-road boards like the Propel X4S. At the same time, the Endeavor’s dimensions are close to the 2-in-1 boards, allowing it to fit inside the trunk of a sedan.
Wheels and Hubs
The stock knobby tires are 8 inches or 200 mm in diameter, mounted on Propel’s precision alloy hubs. Slightly smaller street tires in 7 inches or 180 mm are available as a separate purchase. For street use, the difference between the two sizes is minimal, though the street tires may offer a bit more torque. For off-roading, the knobby tires are the more appropriate choice.
Battery and Range
The Pro and GT models both use a 1080Wh battery, while the S uses a 648Wh battery. That means the Pro and GT have about 1.7 times more battery capacity than the S.
Based on casual riding across various terrain, the Pro and GT models can realistically deliver around 50 km of range. The S model, with its smaller battery, would likely deliver around 30 km under the same conditions. For most riders, the Pro or GT will outlast your energy on a typical ride.
The charger is rated for 5A. Charging the Pro or GT from empty to full takes over 5 hours, while the S takes over 3 hours.
Motors and Drivetrain
The motors are the same on all three models, each with two 63 by 74 rotors. This is a standard size for all-terrain boards and more powerful than most riders would need. All three models use belt drive.
Speed Controllers and Remotes
The speed controllers differ across the three models. The S uses a Lingyi ESC, the GT uses a more current Lingyi controller called the LY-FOC, and the Pro uses a Flipsky VESC-based ESC. All of them were customized for the Endeavor.
Lingyi controllers offer several popular features. One is the ability to turn on the board just by pushing it, so you don’t have to press a power button on the board. Another is the ability to hold the board in place on a gentle slope while standing on it, which many other ESCs cannot do. Lingyi controllers also allow the user to adjust brake strength directly on the remote without entering a settings menu.
However, Lingyi throttle control can sometimes feel jerky compared to VESC-based ESCs. Even with the LY-FOC on the GT, the third and fourth speed modes have a noticeable amount of jerk when fine-tuning cruising speed. This is predictable and mild, but worth noting.
The ESC also determines which remotes you can use. The Pro model’s remote is the Flipsky VX2 Pro, an ambidextrous remote with a color display. When you pull back the control wheel at a full stop, the board goes into reverse without pressing any button. The S and GT remotes may be compatible with other Lingyi remotes.
One quirk on the stock Lingyi remotes: the button labeled Reverse doesn’t actually put the board into reverse. You have to double-click the power button instead. It doesn’t affect the ride once you know the label is wrong, but it’s an odd oversight on an otherwise polished product.
All three remotes use a Micro-USB charge port.
Lighting
The GT is the only model with integrated headlights and a built-in taillight. The two headlights are 1800 lumens each, or 3600 lumens combined, and can be turned on and off using the remote. The taillight is a built-in brake light that looks like it was designed to be there from the start.
On the S and Pro models, lights are optional add-ons. The optional headlights look the same as the GT’s lights and are powered by the board’s battery, but they use a separate power switch instead of the remote. The optional taillight is a separate unit with its own battery and does not look like the GT’s taillight, though it does have a brake sensor.

Portability and Weight
The Pro and GT models weigh 18.5 kg, while the S weighs 17 kg. For context, most 2WD all-terrain boards weigh about 14 to 15 kg. Compared to other suspension boards, the Endeavor is similar in weight to the smallest Bajaboard, which is 18.3 kg. Compared to the Propel X4S, the Endeavor is much lighter and more portable.
That said, the Endeavor is heavy enough that it may not be a frequent choice for riders who need to carry it up stairs or through hallways. Riders with garage storage or easy access to elevators will find the weight less of an issue.

Which Model Should You Choose?
The S model is the most affordable entry point into the Endeavor series. It uses a maple composite deck, a 648Wh battery, and a Lingyi ESC. It’s lighter than the other two models at 17 kg, but the smaller battery means less range. This model suits riders who want the Endeavor’s suspension and off-road capability without the higher price tag.
The Pro model uses a carbon fiber deck, a 1080Wh battery, and a Flipsky VESC-based ESC. The VESC controller offers smooth throttle control and is ideal for DIY and RC hobbyists who want to tweak settings or make customizations. The remote has an auto-reverse feature. The Pro is a strong choice for riders who prioritize smooth throttle response and customization options.
The GT model uses the same carbon fiber deck and 1080Wh battery as the Pro, but swaps the Flipsky ESC for the LY-FOC. It includes integrated headlights and a built-in brake light, both controlled from the remote. The GT’s throttle has some jerkiness in the higher speed modes, but it’s predictable and manageable. During the presale period, the GT offers strong value.
Buying Advice
If you’re deciding between the three models, consider how you’ll use the board. Riders who want maximum range and integrated lighting should lean toward the GT. Riders who value smooth throttle control and customization options should consider the Pro. Riders on a tighter budget who still want the Endeavor’s suspension platform will find the S a capable option.
For riders who plan to ride off-road regularly, the bigger battery of the Pro or GT reduces the risk of running out of power far from home. The S model’s 648Wh battery is more modest and may require more careful range planning.
