Introduction

Milwaukee has announced a trio of new products covering three very different job site needs: a full head protection accessory system, a compact layout laser, and a serious SDS Plus rotary hammer. Here is what each one offers and who it makes sense for.

First Up: Milwaukee BOLT Face and Eye Protection System

For anyone who puts safety first, Milwaukee launched a full system of eye and face protection designed to work with BOLT-capable hard hats. The company says BOLT is the first system that lets users secure multiple accessories at the same time for a complete head protection solution.

The lineup includes eye visors, polycarbonate face shields, metal mesh face shields, and a specially designed BOLT red lithium USB headlamp. With these additions, Milwaukee claims you can now be fully protected, with availability set for fall 2022.

The key idea is simultaneous accessory attachment: instead of juggling clip-on visors, shields, and lights that fight for the same mounting points, BOLT-capable hard hats accept them together. For crews that already run Milwaukee hard hats, this is an easy, modular way to build out a complete protection setup.

Next: Milwaukee M12 Green Cross Line and Four Point Laser

Site layout is one of the hardest jobs on any project, and Milwaukee’s new M12 Green Cross Line and Four Point Laser aims to make it easier by combining what would normally be two separate laser solutions in one unit.

Paired with an M12 red lithium CP 3.0 battery, Milwaukee claims all-day run time with at least nine hours of continuous operation. The high-intensity green laser promises best-in-class visibility with long-range performance up to 125 feet. Vertical and horizontal lines handle alignment and leveling, while the plumb points take care of floor-to-ceiling point transfer, and the horizontal dots double as squaring points for quick, accurate layout.

Durability has been considered too. The laser is fitted with amplified rare earth magnets for a secure hold that will not slide on steel studs, it is rated for drops up to one meter, and an IP54 rating helps protect it from dust and moisture on harsh job sites.

It launched in September 2022, with the kit priced at $549 and the bare tool at $499.

Third: Milwaukee M18 FUEL 1-1/4” SDS Plus D-Handle Rotary Hammer with ONE-KEY

The biggest announcement of the three is a beast of an SDS Plus rotary hammer. Milwaukee says the M18 FUEL 1-1/4” SDS Plus D-Handle Rotary Hammer with ONE-KEY delivers 30 percent faster drilling of 3/4-inch holes and weighs up to six pounds less versus SDS Max rotary hammers. That is a meaningful difference for anyone carrying it up stairs or drilling overhead all day.

The ergonomic D-handle design provides more balance and is optimized for downward drilling. Under the hood, the POWERSTATE brushless motor delivers 3.65 foot-pounds of impact energy, 810 rpm, and 4,650 blows per minute for the most demanding applications.

Safety technology carries over here as well. Auto Stop kickback control shuts the tool off in a bind-up situation and prevents over rotation, giving users maximum control in the moments that matter most.

Rotary hammer drilling into concrete with dust extraction in progress

When paired with an M18 red lithium HIGH OUTPUT XC 6.0 battery, Milwaukee claims it can drill up to 25 three-quarter-inch by four-inch holes per charge. For dust collection and OSHA Table 1 compliance, it is compatible with the M18 FUEL Hammer Vac 1-1/4” dedicated dust extractor.

The launch date is October 2022, with the kit priced at $749 and the bare tool at $499.

Which One Makes Sense for You?

If you run BOLT-capable hard hats, the face and eye protection system is a low-friction safety upgrade. If layout work dominates your day, the M12 green laser’s all-day run time and 125-foot visibility make it a compelling single-unit replacement for two lasers. And if concrete drilling is part of your regular workload, the M18 FUEL rotary hammer’s claimed speed, weight savings, and kickback control put it firmly in the professional category.

Conclusion

Milwaukee’s latest wave covers safety, precision layout, and raw drilling power, and each announcement targets a clearly defined job site need. Match the product to the work you actually do, and any of the three could earn its place on the truck.
