Kreg Enters the Power Tool Market: Full 20V Lineup Breakdown

Kreg, the name behind the pocket hole jig, is launching a 20V cordless power tool line. Here is every announced tool, its key specs, and its price.

Lineup of blue and black cordless power tools arranged on a concrete workshop floor

Introduction

Kreg has long owned the pocket hole category. Walk into Lowe’s, Home Depot, or most hardware stores looking for a pocket hole system, and Kreg is what you will find. The company’s jigs and woodworking accessories are staples for cabinet builders and DIY carpenters. What it never had was a power tool line. That changes now, with a full 20V cordless system built around a new battery platform the brand calls Blue Ion.

The initial lineup covers the tools a woodworker would actually want: a sander, a jigsaw, an impact driver, a circular saw, a trim router, and, most interestingly, a cordless pocket hole joiner. Nearly everything is listed as new and coming soon, so availability is still limited. Based on Kreg’s retail footprint, expect these to show up at Lowe’s and possibly Home Depot once stock arrives. Here is what we know about each tool so far.

Kreg 20V Ionic Drive 5” Random Orbit Sander

The 5-inch random orbit sander is priced at $119.99. It uses a 3/32-inch orbit for fast material removal with a smooth finish, and variable speed runs from 6,000 to 12,000 oscillations per minute. There is a 1/4-inch dust port that works with a removable dust bag, plus sealed buttons and a dust-resistant design aimed at durability.

Because Kreg is a woodworking company first, this sander is clearly aimed at shop users rather than general contractors, and that focus should suit cabinet and furniture work well.

Kreg 20V Ionic Drive Barrel Grip Jigsaw

The barrel grip jigsaw runs $149 and features rubber over-molding on the body. Kreg lists positive detents at 22.5 and 45 degrees with a tool-free bevel adjustment from 0 to 45 degrees, a vacuum port, a thumb-activated power switch lockout, and multiple speed settings.

It is hard to judge whether this is aimed at professionals, enthusiasts, or DIYers before hands-on testing, but the feature list leans prosumer. Given Kreg’s woodworking roots, the professional-leaning positioning seems likely.

Kreg 20V Ionic Drive 1/4” Compact Impact Driver

The compact impact driver is brushless and priced at $119.99. Kreg claims 2,200 inch-pounds of torque, which would put it ahead of comparable full-size models from Milwaukee, DeWalt, and Flex, where Milwaukee sits second at roughly 2,000 inch-pounds.

The trade-off comes at the top end: at 2,900 RPM, it trails the Flex and DeWalt at 3,400 RPM and Milwaukee at 3,900 RPM. Where it stands out is size. At 4.4 inches in length, it is shorter than the full-size competitors, which measure around 5.1 to 5.3 inches. Compared against other compact models from those brands, it is probably in the same ballpark.

One detail worth watching is the 1/4-inch collet, which has a more traditional look. Without hands-on testing, it is simply a design note rather than a verdict.

Kreg 20V Sidewinder 7-1/4” Circular Saw

The Sidewinder circular saw is a brushless, tool-only offering at $169. Maximum depth of cut is 2-7/16 inches at 90 degrees and 1-7/8 inches at 45 degrees, and it can cut two-by material at a 45-degree bevel.

It includes an LED light, a vacuum port, a 5/8-inch arbor, and a 40-tooth blade. Rubber over-molding on the grip is a nice touch. No RPM rating has been published yet, so the cutting performance picture is incomplete until more details emerge.

Kreg 20V Ionic Drive 1/4” Trim Router

The 1/4-inch trim router comes in at $149 as a tool-only unit. It has a spindle lock, a start/stop power button, and a depth adjustment mechanism, and it keeps the classic Kreg blue color scheme.

Like the rest of the line, it is clearly built with woodworkers in mind. Edge profiling, hinge mortising, and small trim tasks are the obvious use cases, and the compact cordless format fits that workflow well.

Kreg 20V Ionic Drive Rebel Pocket Hole Joiner

This is the tool that could define the whole platform. The Rebel pocket hole joiner is a 20V cordless machine priced at $299.99, and it is unlike anything else on the market in this category. Think of how Festool’s Domino changed joinery: Kreg already dominates pocket holes, and a cordless, powered pocket hole machine is the kind of product only a pocket hole company could make.

The feature list is genuinely useful. It offers fast, repeatable settings for materials from 1/2 inch to 1-1/2 inches thick, and no workpiece clamping is required thanks to an built-in clamping mechanism with anti-slip material for stability while drilling. There is a rugged metal frame with a folding handle for job site conditions, tool-free setup for on-the-fly adjustments, an automatic bit deployment that pushes the drill bit out with a press, an integrated dust collection port, and stabilizing legs. For larger workpieces, clamping with Kreg clamps is still shown in use.

For anyone who builds with pocket holes regularly, this could be a significant time-saver, and it is the kind of tool that could take Kreg’s ecosystem to another level.

Kreg 20V Blue Ion Battery and Charger Starter Kit

The entire line runs on the new Blue Ion battery platform. The starter kit, which includes a 2Ah battery plus a charger, costs $129.99. A standalone 2.0Ah battery pack is listed at $91. A 4Ah pack is also planned, but pricing for it has not surfaced yet.

The battery packs include a power button, a small but welcome touch for checking charge state. As with any new platform, the battery ecosystem is the long-term commitment, so it is worth factoring the kit price into any purchase decision.

Overall Buying Advice

Almost every tool here is listed as new and coming soon, currently out of stock. Prices range from $119.99 for the sander and impact driver up to $299.99 for the Rebel pocket hole joiner, with a battery starter kit adding $129.99 if you go tool-only.

If you already own batteries from another platform, adopting a new one is the biggest commitment here. But if you are heavily invested in the Kreg woodworking ecosystem, the Rebel joiner alone is a compelling reason to enter this platform early. The rest of the line competes on specs at reasonable prices, and Kreg’s understanding of woodworking workflows gives the whole system a coherent identity.

Conclusion

Kreg’s move into power tools feels like a natural extension rather than a random pivot. The lineup covers workshop essentials with sensible specs and competitive pricing, and the Rebel pocket hole joiner is a genuinely novel product that only Kreg could build. Availability is the main open question for now, but once these hit shelves at Lowe’s and elsewhere, woodworkers will have a new 20V platform built specifically for their kind of work.
