Path Projects Running Hats: The Kofuzi Non-Elite Cap and Big Bend 2 Trucker
Path Projects makes some of the best running hats around, and the new Kofuzi Non-Elite Cap builds on the Big Bend 2 Trucker, our long-time favorite for hot-weather training and racing.
Introduction
Path Projects makes some of our favorite running clothes, and the brand’s running hats in particular have earned a permanent spot in our regular rotation. The newest arrival is a collaboration: the Kofuzi Non-Elite Cap, a limited version of one of the best hats Path Projects has ever made. If you have been waiting for it, it is finally available on the Path Projects website, and given the limited nature of a collab release, it may not stick around for long.

The Kofuzi Path Projects Non-Elite Cap
The Non-Elite Cap is based on one of the two standout hats in the Path Projects lineup, the Big Bend 2 Trucker. It keeps the same trucker construction: mesh panels in the back for ventilation, a reflective velcro clasp for dialing in the fit, and a small joint Kofuzi and Path Projects patch on the back that is a genuinely nice finishing touch.
Up front, the hat carries the Non-Elite text in a box, and the whole front panel is reflective as well, which adds a bit of visibility when you are out in low light. It is a small detail, but the reflective treatment across the front and the clasp makes the hat feel thoughtfully designed rather than just rebranded.
The Non-Elite Cap is priced at $32, and the limited-release status is worth taking seriously if you are considering it.
The Big Bend 2 Trucker
The regular Big Bend 2 Trucker Hat is the model the Non-Elite Cap is built on, and it remains available on the Path Projects website at a slightly lower price. The first version was already a favorite, and version 2 was made slightly bigger, which made it fit even better.

What separates this from old-school trucker hats is the construction. Many traditional truckers use a foam-like front material that can get hot on runs. These hats are made for running instead: a more structured mesh panel helps the hat hold its shape, while the front technical material manages sweat far more effectively and runs noticeably cooler than a regular trucker hat.
Comfort and Fit Details
One of the best things about this design is how flexible it is on the run. You can wear it forwards or backwards, and it stays comfortable either way depending on where the sun or the wind is coming from. The brim is pliable enough to shape however you need it, which matters more than most people expect once you start logging long miles.

Everyday Wear and Durability
This is a hat intended to be run in and beat up. It has been taken on many long runs and several races, and the Big Bend 2 has been thrown directly into the washing machine countless times without falling apart. The expectation is that the Non-Elite Cap will handle the same rigorous use, and arguably look better the more it is used. This one has already been along to Spain and around Chicago, which says a lot about how much it gets worn.
Buying Advice
If you like the collaboration and the Non-Elite branding, that version costs $32 and is the one to grab, but do not wait too long on a limited cap. If you just want the hat itself, the regular Big Bend 2 Trucker is a few dollars cheaper and delivers the same running-focused construction.

Conclusion
Both hats share what makes Path Projects running hats stand out: breathable running-specific materials, a flexible brim, a reflective adjustable clasp, and proven durability through repeated wash cycles. Choose the Non-Elite Cap if the collab appeals to you, or the Big Bend 2 Trucker if you simply want one of the best running hats available today.
