9 New Harbor Freight Tools Worth Watching: Hercules, Predator, Bauer and Icon

From a refreshed Hercules table saw and a compact Predator inverter generator to a Bauer wet/dry vac for the modular storage system, these are the upcoming releases worth putting on your radar.

Introduction

Harbor Freight’s next wave of releases covers a lot of ground: job site saws, generators, modular storage, impact wrenches, batteries, chargers and specialty automotive kits. Several of these items were previously shown at SEMA, and many are tools DIYers and budget-conscious pros have been asking about for a while. Most are expected to land in stores within roughly a month, with some arriving sooner.

Here is what is coming, what each product is for, and which ones are worth acting on quickly.

Hercules 10-Inch Table Saw

The Hercules 10-inch table saw looks likely to make way for a new 8-1/4-inch version, a size that has become the standard for job site saws focused on straight ripping. That does not make the current 10-inch model less useful. Many buyers treat it as a starter woodworking saw for the house, where the larger blade capacity still has real value.

If you have been eyeing the 10-inch Hercules, the timing matters. It has been on an inside-track sale for $320, but that sale was set to expire around the time the new models were expected to land. There is a reasonable chance Harbor Freight clears the old stock rather than carrying two corded Hercules saws so close in capability, given limited shelf space. Combined with the store’s return policy, buying now is a low-risk move if you want the larger blade.

A cordless Hercules saw also seems plausible down the road, though nothing has been confirmed. The same logic opens the door to a future Bauer 10-inch saw, which would be an interesting budget option if it happens.

Predator 4200 Super Quiet Inverter Generator

This is arguably the headline release. The Predator 4200 super quiet inverter generator is a compact, suitcase-style unit that runs on gas or propane and delivers 20% more power for its size. It is Harbor Freight’s answer to the high-output suitcase generators that have impressed a lot of people recently, and it supports dual-linking so you can pair two units together for more capacity.

The practical appeal is easy to see: serious output in a small, portable form factor, with dual-fuel flexibility for campgrounds, job sites and backup use. Expect this one to move quickly once it hits shelves.

One note on the broader Predator line: an updated version of the existing generator is also coming, but the change is mainly regulatory. The new unit resolves its emissions compliance so it can be sold as a single 50-state-compliant SKU, including California. Unless you live in a restricted state, it is not a meaningful upgrade.

Bauer Modular Toolbox Wet/Dry Vac

The Bauer modular tool storage system already shares its platform with versions sold at other retailers, and until now those other versions had features the Bauer line lacked. The drawers helped close that gap. The next addition goes further: a 5.5-gallon wet/dry vac built specifically for the Bauer modular system.

The spec list is solid for the category: 5 peak horsepower, 95 CFM, an ultra-flexible kink-resistant hose, a top carrying handle, onboard storage, a pleated cartridge filter included, and a blower port that instantly converts to a vacuum port. It also switches between wet/dry and dry-vac configurations.

If you think a shop vac is a boring announcement, you are probably not the target buyer. For DIYers and budget pros already invested in the Bauer modular system, a compatible vac is genuinely big news, and it is something none of the other retailers carrying this platform offer.

Hercules High Torque Impact Wrench Gen 2

The original Hercules high torque impact wrench was a genuine shake-up, pairing serious output with a five-year warranty and big-capacity batteries at a price that clearly got the competition’s attention. The Gen 2 version refines the formula rather than replacing it.

The upgrades focus on the complaints: parts that had drawn criticism have been upgraded, and a new smart controller manages run-down so the tool does not spin a fastener off and launch it across the shop. Those are exactly the kinds of fixes that turn a strong first effort into an easy recommendation.

If you work on vehicles or run a small shop, this remains one of the most competitive high-torque cordless impact wrenches on price, and Gen 2 addresses most of the early objections.

Hercules Dual Voltage Charger Gen 2

The second-generation Hercules dual voltage charger looks nearly identical to the current model but gets meaningful upgrades underneath. Charging output is expected to roughly double, moving from dual four-amp to a higher-amplitude charge, with sources pointing to dual 12-amp high-voltage charging. The USB output is also expected to increase to around 30 watts.

If you run a multi-battery Hercules collection, faster turnaround between charges is a practical quality-of-life upgrade rather than a flashy one, and this charger is shaping up to be exactly that.

Bauer 5Ah Battery 2-Pack

The Bauer 5Ah battery two-pack is getting a refresh that looks cosmetic at first glance but may be much more. The updated packaging was noted at SEMA, and a source indicates the new packs carry upgraded cells, possibly moving from 18650 cells to larger 21700 cells while keeping the same 5 amp hour rating.

That upgrade is not confirmed yet, and the source did not sound fully certain. If it turns out to be true, better cell format typically means improved performance and durability at the same capacity. Until confirmation arrives, treat this as one to watch rather than a promised spec.

Bauer Modular Tool Bag

Joining the Bauer modular storage lineup is a large tool bag with a hard bottom that latches directly onto the modular system. Harbor Freight has been quietly shipping these out ahead of the announcement, and it is a substantially larger bag than the photos suggest.

The standout feature is storage: the pocket arrangement is extensive, and the overall size and structure give it the feel of a premium haul-everything bag. It rounds out the Bauer modular system nicely, which now includes the boxes, the drawer units, the compatible wet/dry vac and this bag. A matching cooler is the obvious next request for the platform.

Icon 22-Piece Cooling System Pressure Testing Kit

An Icon version of a 22-piece cooling system pressure testing kit is also on the way, alongside an Icon coolant refill and retention pressure test tool. These are not identical copies of the versions already sold elsewhere, but they serve the same purpose: pressurizing and testing a cooling system to find leaks and refilling it without trapping air.

For anyone doing their own cooling system diagnosis and service, a pressure test kit is one of those tools that pays for itself the first time it saves a tow or a head gasket guess. The Icon branding suggests this will be the more heavy-duty offering in the lineup.

Bauer Precision Rotary Tool

Harbor Freight already sells a Bauer rotary tool, but this is a different animal: a precision rotary tool positioned against compact detail tools like the Dremel Stylo. The form factor is slimmer and made for fine work rather than raw power.

It is aimed squarely at detail tasks: etching, engraving, intricate trimming and other close-up work where a full-size rotary tool is too bulky to control. If you already own the standard Bauer rotary for heavier jobs, this becomes the detail companion rather than a replacement.

For hobbyists, makers and anyone doing fine finishing work, a budget-priced precision rotary tool with this kind of ergonomics is a genuinely useful addition to the line.

Other Releases Worth a Quick Mention

A few smaller items round out the wave. Updated air hammer chisels are coming to the Chief line. A three-piece wide-mouth funnel kit is heading to the Pittsburgh line, and cheap funnels are one of those things every garage goes through quickly. Hardy is also adding heavy-duty plastic gloves, which have quietly become a favorite for work where you still want feel.

Overall Buying Advice

Two products stand out as likely to sell fast: the Predator 4200 super quiet inverter generator and the Bauer modular wet/dry vac. If either matches your needs, being ready to buy when they land is a reasonable plan.

For the Hercules 10-inch table saw, the math is simpler. With an 8-1/4-inch replacement expected and a $320 sale running, waiting costs you the larger blade option. If that is the saw you want, buy it now rather than hoping the new version suits you better.

For everything else, the usual rule applies: match the tool to the work you actually do. The impact wrench and charger upgrades reward existing Hercules battery owners, the modular storage additions reward Bauer system investors, and the Icon kit rewards anyone who services cooling systems regularly.

Conclusion

This release wave is one of the more varied Harbor Freight has put together in a while, mixing genuine category challengers with smart additions to existing systems. The Predator 4200 and the Bauer wet/dry vac are the headline grabs, but the Gen 2 Hercules tools and the modular storage expansions may end up being the releases people actually buy month after month. Keep an eye on store arrivals, and check pricing as each item lands.
