Grove Supply Company Stitchless Wallet Review: One Piece of Leather, Zero Stitches

A fold-together wallet made from a single piece of Wickett and Craig full grain vegetable tan leather, with no stitching and no glue, priced at just $45.

Introduction

The Stitchless Wallet from Grove Supply Company takes an unusual approach: it is made from a single piece of leather that is folded together with no stitching and no glue. Everything locks into place through the design itself, and the result is a functional horizontal flap wallet that feels genuinely fresh in a category where most products look the same.

It arrives in a fabric pouch with the Grove Supply Company logo stamped on the front, along with a leather insert, a sticker, and a card with the brand’s socials, email, and website.

Who This Product Is For

This wallet suits minimalists who want a compact, well-made everyday carrier without bulky hardware or stitching, and it works especially well for people who still like to carry cash. At $45, it also appeals to anyone who wants a genuinely well-crafted leather wallet without crossing the $50 mark.

Main Strengths

The wallet is cut from glazed harness full grain vegetable tan leather sourced from Wickett and Craig, a leather with a nice gloss that is soft yet firm. It passes the smell test with ease, and the cut edges are cleanly finished, with the flap nicely burnished and polished. The only branding is a subtle logo stamp on the front.

It measures 4 inches by 2.5 inches when closed and weighs 1.2 ounces, or 36 grams. It holds up to 10 cards plus cash folded in half, and in testing it gobbled up 30 bills without complaint, though the flap gets a bit tight at that point. As with any new leather wallet, everything stretches out with use.

Things to Consider Before Buying

The horizontal flap style will not be for everyone, and there is one small functional quirk: when inserting a card into the external quick access pocket, the card can occasionally hang up on the piece of leather tucked inside. Once you get used to pressing the card against the body of the wallet as you slide it in, it stops being a problem.

It is also worth noting that the Stitchless Wallet is currently running a Kickstarter campaign from Josh, the owner of Grove Supply Company, who has reportedly been working on the design for a few years.

Buying Advice

If you like the idea of a stitchless, fold-together wallet and want quality leather without a premium price, this is an easy recommendation at $45. A wallet of this quality in this style, under $50, is a genuine steal.

Leather Quality and Craftsmanship

The glazed harness full grain vegetable tan leather from Wickett and Craig is the headline here. It has a nice gloss, it is very soft yet very firm, and it is simply a great leather to make a wallet out of. Since this is a folded wallet there is no edge burnishing on the cuts themselves, but the cuts are cleanly taken care of, and the flap is nicely burnished and polished.

Design and Stitchless Construction

This is a horizontal flap style wallet with two internal card pockets, a quick access card pocket on the back, and a tug-style tuck closure. The biggest draw is obvious: no stitches, no glue. Everything is folded together out of a single piece of leather and locked together inside the external quick access card pocket.

One clever bonus: once the flap is closed, the tuck closure can double as an extra spot to carry a card. It is not an actual pocket, so a card inserted there would fall through on its own, but there is enough tension that it stays put through a shake test, effectively giving you a second quick access slot.

Card and Cash Capacity

In the card test, the wallet handled its maximum of 10 cards: seven in the large rear pocket, two in the front pocket, and one in the back quick access pocket. The rear pocket is spacious enough to fit more cards if you want, and the quick access pocket has plenty of room to spare.

For cash carriers, five bills folded in half fit nicely without needing to fold bills into quarters or thirds, and 30 bills fit entirely, though closing the flap gets a little tricky at that volume. This thing can hold a ton.

Conclusion

The Grove Supply Company Stitchless Wallet is an innovative take on the everyday wallet: beautiful Wickett and Craig full grain leather, a genuinely clever fold-together design, and impressive capacity for its size, all for $45. The occasional card snag in the quick access pocket is minor and easily managed. If the stitchless trend keeps growing, this is a wallet worth backing.
