Four New Flex 24V Tools: Compact Drill, Bandsaw, Impact Wrench, and Trim Router
Flex expands its 24V lineup with four compact, brushless tools aimed at tradespeople who need power in tight spaces.
Introduction
Flex has announced four new additions to its 24V lineup, and the common thread is easy to spot: compact tools with full-size performance. For anyone considering adopting the platform, or current owners looking to fill gaps in their kit, this batch covers drilling, cutting, fastening, and finish carpentry work.
Here is a closer look at each tool, what Flex claims it can do, and which battery and kit options are available.
Flex 24V Compact Hammer Drill
The Flex 24V half-inch two-speed compact hammer drill is built to pack big power into a compact size. Flex says it is 9 percent more compact and 19 percent lighter than its larger counterpart, the FX1251, making it easier to work in hard-to-reach spaces.
Despite the smaller body, it delivers 650 pound-inches of torque and is aimed at drilling holes into studs, concrete, and masonry when anchoring with Tapcons. Flex claims up to 85 holes of 5/16-inch diameter in concrete from the included 2.5Ah battery. That same battery pack is a notable point for the platform, since a more compact 2.5Ah stacked lithium option is exactly the kind of addition many owners have been asking for.
The drill will be offered as a kit with the 2.5Ah battery and a 160W fast charger, which is a welcome detail: Flex includes what most other brands would call a rapid charger even with its compact tools.

Flex 24V Compact Bandsaw
Next up is the Flex 24V 2.5-inch compact bandsaw, designed for cutting conduit, rod, pipe, and strut. Compared with its larger 5-inch deep-cut counterpart, Flex says this saw is 27 percent more compact and 43 percent lighter.
That size and weight saving matters most for plumbers and electricians who need to cut material in place while up on a ladder. The brushless, sensor-free motor delivers fast cutting speeds for clean, burr-free cuts, and a variable speed trigger gives better control across different materials.
Other practical touches include a quick-release tool-free blade cover that protects the active cutting area, an LED light for dark work areas, and a rafter hook for storage on ladders, strut, and Flex Stack Pack rails between cuts. One open question at announcement time: Flex has not said whether this bandsaw will be sold bare tool or as a kit, so it is worth waiting for confirmation if kit contents matter to your purchase.

Flex 24V Half-Inch Mid-Torque Impact Wrench
The Flex 24V half-inch mid-torque impact wrench is the tool many have been waiting for. It packs 600 ft-lbs of fastening torque and 750 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque into a compact design built for hard-to-reach automotive and mechanical work.
For automotive use, Auto Stop mode prevents over-tightening, braking, or stripping of lug nuts, while Bolt Removal mode stops the tool when it senses the lug nut is loosened, helping keep fasteners from flying off. Vibration suppression isolates both the tool and the user from vibration for more comfortable extended use, and three speed modes plus a variable speed trigger let you adapt RPM to the job.
This wrench will be offered in three configurations: a kit with a 24V 3.5Ah stacked lithium battery and 160W fast charger, a kit with a 24V 5Ah lithium battery and 160W fast charger, or as a bare tool. Having more purchase options, including bare tool availability, is a genuine plus.

Flex 24V Trim Router
The Flex 24V trim router rounds out the announcement and is squarely aimed at carpenters working on finish furniture and cabinetry, or cutting doors and window openings through plywood and OSB.
It features an innovative spindle lock shaft lock system for fast, easy bit changes, with the added safety benefit of preventing accidental startups. The powerful 1.5 max horsepower brushless motor maintains constant speed under tough conditions, and a variable speed dial offers six settings from 15,000 to 31,000 RPM. Quick-release collars allow depth adjustment accurate to 1/64 of an inch.
Flex claims best-in-class run time: 275 linear feet of red oak rounded over with a 3/8-inch bit per charge on a 5Ah battery. The router comes as a kit with a 24V 3.5Ah stacked lithium battery and 160W fast charger, or as a bare tool.

Buying Advice
If you already own Flex 24V batteries, checking for bare tool availability before committing to a kit is the smartest move, since the impact wrench and trim router both offer that option. For new adopters, the hammer drill kit with the compact 2.5Ah battery is an appealing entry point, combining a lighter battery with a fast charger.
For automotive-focused buyers, the mid-torque impact wrench with the 5Ah battery offers the most run time, while plumbers and electricians working at height will get the most immediate benefit from the compact bandsaw’s 43 percent weight saving. Keep in mind that the bandsaw’s kit versus bare tool status has not been confirmed yet.
Conclusion
Flex’s new 24V additions lean hard into the compact trend without giving up headline numbers: 650 pound-inches of torque in the drill, 600 ft-lbs of fastening torque in the wrench, and 275 linear feet of red oak per charge in the router. Whether you are building out a platform or adding a single specialized tool, this generation gives tradespeople more options that are easier to carry and easier to live with day to day.
