Introduction

The Eufy Omni C28 is the newest addition to Eufy’s value-focused C series, and it brings a lot to the table. This robot vacuum and mop combo features a continuous clean roller mop system, strong suction, and a dock that handles emptying, refilling, washing, and drying automatically. After several weeks of testing, it has proven to be one of the most impressive Eufy models to date, and it may be the best value pick in the company’s lineup.

Who This Product Is For

The C28 is designed for homes with a mix of hard floors and carpet. Its roller mop system can lift 10.8 mm over carpets, so it can clean both surface types in a single run without getting rugs wet. This makes it a strong choice for households that want a single robot to handle daily floor maintenance across different rooms.

It is also a great fit for pet owners. The C28 removed all of the flattened pet hair in our carpet test, and its anti-tangle main brush handled long hair without any wrapping. If you have pets that shed, this robot is built to handle that kind of mess.

Main Strengths

The mopping performance is the standout feature. The C28 uses Eufy’s HydroJet mopping system, a roller mop design that continually cleans itself while it works. The robot sprays fresh water onto the roller and collects waste water in a separate tank. This design is particularly good at processing wet spills because, unlike dual spinning pads, the roller does not spread liquid messes around the floor.

In our dried stain test, the C28 scored above average, and it did so while using very little water. We measured only a quarter of the water left behind by the average robot, which helps reduce the appearance of streaks on the floor. The combination of a higher-than-average stain test score and a very low water penalty gave the C28 an incredibly high combined mopping score, placing it in the top 10 mops of all time in our data set.

Vacuuming performance is another strong point. The official suction rating is 15,000 Pascals, and the robot comes with an anti-tangle main brush and two side brushes. In our carpet deep clean test, the C28 removed most of the embedded sand for a way above average score of 89%. It also performed well in our crevice test, which is good news for homes with deep grout or joints in the flooring.

The dock is a major convenience feature. It automatically empties the robot’s dust bin, refills and empties the water tanks, washes the mop roller with room-temperature water, and dries it with hot air at 50 degrees Celsius. Drying the mop with warm air helps prevent mildew and odors from developing because the heat dries the mop more quickly.

Navigation is also a plus. The C28 uses Eufy’s iPath 2.0 LiDAR navigation, and it scored above average in our navigation efficiency test. The robot moves through the cleaning area without wasting much time on poor route planning.

Things to Consider Before Buying

The main drawback is obstacle avoidance. The C28 uses a lower-tech system with basic LiDAR and line laser obstacle detection. It was only able to successfully avoid 15 out of 24 possible obstacles in our standard and torture tests. This is slightly below average and a significant downshift from Eufy’s E25 robot vacuum, which is priced a little higher but scored 21 out of 24.

The robot is also taller than average by a little over half an inch. This can affect its ability to fit under sofas and beds. The roller mop system is likely the main reason for the extra height, so it is a trade-off between mopping performance and clearance.

Battery life is another consideration. The official runtime is listed as 216 minutes, but our tests showed below-average battery efficiency. However, the estimated square feet the robot can cover per charge was a little over average, which helps offset the battery issues somewhat.

The Eufy app is generally good, with no-go zones, customized cleaning settings, scheduled cleaning, multi-floor mapping, and third-party voice integration. It is a little lighter weight than other big brands, though, and lacks some detailed features like the ability to vacuum first and then mop with a single button press. This can be set up manually if you want it, but it is an example of where the app is less robust than competitors.

Buying Advice

The Eufy Omni C28 is often sold for up to 30% less than its retail price. If that lower price sticks around, the value positioning is really high because of the wide range of features. It is the most premium model in Eufy’s C series, but it still undercuts many competitors on price.

At the time of testing, the C28 secured a spot in the top half of our top 20 robot vacuum list, and it was the least expensive robot to do so. Early user reviews are mostly positive, which is a good sign for long-term reliability.

Conclusion

The Eufy Omni C28 is a great mop and a very capable vacuum, especially when it comes to carpets, hair tangles, and pet hair pickup. With exceptional floor-cleaning ability, hands-free dock automations, and an attractive price tag, it is our favorite Eufy model to date. If the price stays stable, it is on track to being one of the best value picks of the year.
