CRAFTSMAN TradeStack Gets Three New Storage Solutions: Organizer, Tool Crate, and Two-Drawer Unit

Three new additions to the CRAFTSMAN TradeStack system bring small-part organization, bulk storage, and mid-stack drawer access, with full compatibility across the line.

Three modular tool storage units: an organizer with transparent lid, an open tool crate, and a two-drawer unit

Introduction

CRAFTSMAN has expanded its TradeStack storage line with three new additions: an organizer, a tool crate, and a two-drawer unit. Each one addresses a different storage problem, and all three are fully compatible with other TradeStack boxes and bags. If you already own CRAFTSMAN VERSASTACK units, adapter plates let the two systems work together, so nothing in your current setup goes to waste.

Here is a closer look at what each new piece does well and who it makes the most sense for.

How the TradeStack System Connects

Stacking and removing TradeStack units is straightforward. To secure one box on top of another, line up the two connection points toward the back of the lower box’s lid with the ones on the upper box’s base, set them in place, pivot the box forward, and push down until you hear it click. A red spring-loaded latch at the front automatically locks the two boxes together.

That click-and-latch design is what makes the whole system modular: you can build the stack you need for the job and pull it apart just as quickly.

CRAFTSMAN TradeStack Organizer

The organizer is the go-to solution for nails, screws, bolts, nuts, washers, and other small objects. It fits the TradeStack system footprint at 21 3/8 inches wide by 14 1/8 inches, and at 5 1/4 inches deep it holds up to 44 pounds. The transparent polycarbonate lid makes it easy to see what is inside before you even open it.

Open the lid and two things stand out immediately. First, a gasket around the lid gives the box an IP65 ingress rating against dust and water. Second, there are 12 removable bins inside, each settling into molded spots in the base, with the lid recessing slightly into the top of each bin to keep them secured during transport.

The clever part of the design is that you can remove bins to make room for longer items such as socket extensions, reciprocating saw blades, or long bolts, without worrying about the remaining bins shifting and spilling. It runs $39.98.

CRAFTSMAN TradeStack Tool Crate

In our view, the tool crate is a must-have part of the TradeStack system. It is a great place to toss items that do not mind the elements, such as extension cords, and it works well as a staging spot on top of the stack while you are working, giving you a place to set down the tools you pick up frequently.

Designed specifically for bulk storage, it is 10 inches deep and holds up to 50 pounds. Two handles integrated into the sides let you fully wrap your hands around them for a secure grip. Thanks to its rigid design, it can carry other TradeStack products on top, so it works as the base, in the middle, or on top of your system. It is available for $34.98.

CRAFTSMAN TradeStack Two-Drawer Unit

The two-drawer unit is the most versatile of the three. Its drawers operate smoothly thanks to actual drawer slides, and a latch keeps them from sliding back out once you close them. Each drawer is 3.8 inches deep and holds up to 17.6 pounds.

With that capacity, you can carry more than hand tools and accessories. Power tools such as drills and impact drivers fit, along with batteries, meters, and other tools you rely on to make a living.

Best of all, the drawer design gives you access to your gear in the middle of your stack without having to remove any TradeStack storage connected above it. It adds to the system for $99.

Buying Advice

The right pick depends on what your stack is missing. If small hardware chaos is your daily frustration, the organizer with its 12 removable bins and IP65-rated lid is the clear answer. If you need flexible bulk storage that anchors a stack, the tool crate earns its place. And if you want mid-stack access to power tools and batteries without unstacking anything, the two-drawer unit justifies its higher price. Because all three lock into the same system, many TradeStack users will realistically end up with more than one.

Conclusion

The new TradeStack organizer, tool crate, and two-drawer unit each solve a distinct storage problem while staying fully compatible with the rest of the line. With adapter plates bridging the gap to VERSASTACK, it is easier than ever to build a storage system that matches the way you actually work.
