12 Unique Ice Creams Tested: Which Ones Are Worth Your Money This Summer
From mango-shaped novelty bars to paan and jamun sriracha popsicles, we taste 12 of the most interesting ice creams on shelves right now and score each one.
Introduction
Ice cream season calls for a proper taste test. We gathered twelve of the most interesting frozen desserts on shelves right now, from a mango-shaped novelty bar that sold out last year to paan, jamun sriracha, and roll kulfi. Each one was tasted and scored out of ten, and some genuinely stood out.
The Contenders
The lineup covers a wide range: nostalgic mango and kulfi flavors, bold chilli and sriracha experiments, low-calorie pops, and a few classic chocolate options. Prices ranged from budget tubs to premium boxes, so there is something here for nearly every budget.

Hoco Aamchi Mango Ice Cream
This mango-shaped ice cream went completely sold out last year and went viral for how realistic it looks, with a green-to-yellow-to-orange color gradient and a chocolate coating on the outside. In person it looks a little like a bar of soap, but the taste tells a different story: a rich mango flavor with a crunchy chocolate shell that has a surprisingly good mouthfeel, nothing like cheap compound chocolate. The nostalgia factor is strong, especially for anyone who grew up on mango dolly. Score: 9/10.
Havmor Guava Chilli Ice Cream
At ₹275, this tub delivers one of the most unique flavor combinations in the lineup. The first bite is fruity and cooling, and then the chilli kick arrives. The chilli is cold first, spicy after, and paired with guava it works beautifully. The texture is creamy and there are visible chili flakes on top. This is a divisive flavor: people who like it will love it, and people who do not will probably hate it. For guava-chilli fans, it is a 10/10 and easy to finish in one sitting.

Havmor Blockbuster Wild Berry White Chocolate
Priced at ₹40, this one is honest about what it is: flavored ice cream with a white chocolate compound coating, not real chocolate. Expectations should stay modest. The berry flavor is very mild and the texture gives more of a budget cream biscuit vibe than a premium bar, with a slightly Magnum-inspired look. Still, for fans of fruity berry flavors with white chocolate, it is genuinely enjoyable. Score: 8/10.
Frub Superstar Banarasi Paan Ice Cream
A ₹182 tub from a lesser-known brand, with real effort put into the presentation. The flavor itself is bang-on paan, which is exactly the problem if you are not a paan person. The strong mouth freshener character overwhelms everything, but the brand has done a good job of capturing that authentic paan and supari taste. If you love paan and grab extra mouth fresheners after restaurant meals, this will likely be a favorite. As a self-declared paan skeptic: 3/10, but paan lovers should absolutely try it.
Goz Guilt Free Jamun Sriracha Pops
With only 36 calories, zero added sugar, and real black jamuns, this pop delivers an undercurrent of sriracha spice that hits after the jamun flavor. It tastes like a black jamun that went abroad and came back with sriracha, in the best way. Anyone who enjoys fruity-spicy combinations like watermelon with tajin or guava with chilli will find this hits the spot. A pleasant surprise from a skeptic who expected to dislike it. Score: 9/10.
Noto Classic Vanilla Miniez
A ₹330 box of individually wrapped mini bars, each around 30 calories, coated in chocolate. The chocolate coating is genuinely good, but the vanilla ice cream inside is just milky without a real vanilla bean flavor coming through. The odd melon-like shape does not help. Vanilla lovers expecting a proper vanilla hit will be left wanting. Score: 6/10.
Baskin Robbins Double Bar Choco Fudge
At ₹90, this bar clearly channels a Snickers-style ice cream chocolate bar, and it nails it. Chocolate mousse ice cream, brownie cake pieces, and caramel confectionery coated in a milk choco dip, with a properly chocolate-bar-like interior. The textures are excellent: crunchy chocolate, gooey caramel, and a melt-in-your-mouth ice cream base that is not overly sweet. Even for someone who is not a fan of chocolate ice cream, this earns a 10/10.
Goz Guilt Free Raspberry Duet
A 63-calorie, zero added sugar raspberry ice cream with visible raspberry seeds and an amazing strawberry-cream-biscuit kind of smell. The concept, a fruity coating with a milky center, is appealing, but the raspberry part overpowers the milk center and the flavor reads a little artificial. A bigger milky center would fix it. Excitement did not fully translate into enjoyment. Score: 5/10.
Magnum Caramel Pop
A ₹70 flavor that many people do not know exists. Inside is a crackly Cadbury Crackle-style chocolate shell over vanilla ice cream with beautiful golden caramel swirls and crunchy caramel popcorn vibes throughout. It is perfectly caramelly, not overly sweet, and the vanilla base has excellent thickness and consistency. Even for someone who is not the biggest caramel-in-ice-cream fan, it scores an 8/10. If you love caramel, this is likely a perfect pick.

Noto Intense Moka Popsicle
This ₹155 popsicle has 95 calories and no added sugar, with a slightly bitter coffee flavor that is not sweet at all and a melt-in-your-mouth chocolate coating. The flavor is bang-on and something you could genuinely finish on your own. Two marks were cut: one for the appearance, since ours arrived cracked and frostbitten, and one for the texture, which is quite icy. The bigger issue is value. Compared to a ₹70 Magnum that uses Belgian chocolate, this feels steep for the size and quality, even accounting for the low-calorie formula. Score: 8/10.
Gramin Kulfi Desi Malai Kulfi
A ₹220 box (MRP ₹240) from a brand most people have never heard of, and it feels genuinely premium: a heavy, well-made box containing roll-cut kulfi with each slice individually packed. The taste is the yummiest thing in the entire test, with a cooked condensed milk vibe that is surprisingly not overly sweet. Extra marks for the packaging and branding. A clear 10/10 and the sleeper hit of the lineup.

Gramin Kulfi Leechi Falooda Kulfi
A ₹130 tub in an interesting flavor, from a brand that also does sitaphal, chikoo, fruity jamun, and mixed berries. It looks like regular ice cream, smells of leechi and oddly a lot like rose, and has a creamy, smooth texture. Blindfolded, you would guess rose-flavored ice cream rather than leechi falooda, though the leechi adds a nice freshness. It is not a bad flavor, just an odd one that is not worth a repeat purchase. Score: 6/10.
Overall Buying Advice
In this heat, almost any ice cream is good ice cream, but a few genuinely stood out and are worth repurchasing through the season. The Havmor Guava Chilli, Baskin Robbins Double Bar Choco Fudge, Goz Jamun Sriracha Pops, Hoco Aamchi Mango, and Gramin Desi Malai Kulfi all scored 9 or 10. Budget hunters get real value from the ₹40 Havmor Blockbuster and ₹70 Magnum Caramel Pop, while paan fans are the only people who should seek out the Frub Superstar. Skip the Raspberry Duet unless you find it heavily discounted.
Conclusion
The best picks of this test balance flavor accuracy, texture, and price. If you want safe and excellent, go for the kulfi or the chocolate fudge bar. If you want adventurous, the guava chilli and jamun sriracha pops are the boldest bets that still delivered.
