Best Tool Deals Right Now: 13 Picks From Home Depot, Lowe's, and Amazon
Ridgid, DeWalt, Makita, Metabo HPT, Bosch, Craftsman, and Kobalt deals worth a look, plus one Milwaukee combo kit we'd skip.
Introduction
Not every week brings a headline deal, but this week’s pass through Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Amazon turned up a solid spread: a handful of approachable Ridgid discounts, a strong battery deal from DeWalt, several genuinely well-priced Metabo HPT and Makita tools, and a five-tool brushless combo from Kobalt that’s hard to argue with at $209. There’s also one widely advertised Milwaukee bundle that we think you should skip. Here’s the full rundown, with honest notes on who each deal actually suits.
Ridgid Deals at Home Depot
Ridgid has a broad sale running at Home Depot right now. Nothing in it is jaw-dropping, with most items sitting at $10 to $50 off, but if you’re already in the Ridgid battery line it’s worth a browse to fill small gaps in your kit.
The compact router is one of the better values in the sale at around $50 off, which is a meaningful cut on a trim tool many woodworkers use constantly. It’s the kind of purchase that makes sense if you’ve been putting off adding one to your collection.

The 12-gallon shop vac also gets an extra $20 off. It’s a practical, no-drama addition for garage or jobsite cleanup, and the discount makes it a reasonable time to pick one up.
Milwaukee M18 10-Tool Combo Kit: We’d Skip It
This bundle gets advertised frequently and almost never stays at its listed $1,100 price. It’s currently around $600, but we don’t think it’s worth it. All ten tools are brushed, not brushless and not Fuel, and many are older designs that haven’t been updated in years. The kit also includes lower-spec batteries and a basic charger.
Our take: buy only the Milwaukee tools you actually need, and at minimum go brushless. You could assemble the tools you’d use from this kit individually for less than the $600 price. Only if the bundle included four or five higher-capacity batteries would it start to look attractive.
DeWalt PowerStack 1.7Ah Batteries (2-Pack)
There are always DeWalt deals floating around Amazon, and buying from DeWalt directly or an authorized dealer can beat Home Depot pricing. One of the better ones we’ve seen: a two-pack of the compact PowerStack 1.7Ah batteries for $95.99, with fast shipping.
These smaller packs aren’t the most popular capacity, but they shine on lighter-duty tools where you want PowerStack power density without extra weight. If you run compact DeWalt tools, this is one of the best two-battery prices we’ve seen.
DeWalt Cut-Off Tool
This one isn’t on sale, but it’s worth flagging. A compact cut-off tool fills the spots an angle grinder physically can’t reach, and it’s a tool you don’t appreciate until you own one. At $141, this is one of the cheaper prices you’ll find for it.
The Makita equivalent costs more, and the Milwaukee M12 version is underpowered in our view. The DeWalt sits at the best balance of price and performance, which makes it a straightforward recommendation.

Metabo HPT 4-1/2” Angle Grinder
Metabo HPT’s entry-level 4-1/2” grinder regularly lands at $37 to $39, typically with five discs and a case included. For the price it’s very hard to beat, and feedback from owners has been consistently positive for a grinder this cheap.
One caveat: the warranty on this model is limited, so treat it as a value pick rather than a long-term daily driver. If you mostly just need a grinder plus some wheels on hand, $40 is a fair spend.
Metabo HPT Torque Screwdriver
This compact electric screwdriver keeps coming up in recommendations, and it fills a genuine niche: fine, controlled work like disassembling fragile tools or electronics, with clutch settings for precision in tight spaces.
At $59 it’s one of the cheaper options from the major brands, and it includes two batteries. The catch is that Metabo HPT barely supports the 3.6V line beyond this tool, so it’s a standalone purchase. If you genuinely need a torque screwdriver, it’s a good deal; if you’re unsure, skip it.
Metabo HPT Rear Handle Saw
This rear-handle circular saw closely mirrors the Makita design but runs on 36V batteries (two 18V packs) and undercuts the Makita XGT pricing. It’s worth grabbing when it dips under $190 for the bare tool.
It weighs 8.2 lbs, which is heavy, but that’s normal for a rear-handle saw, a class that trades weight for power. The kit with two batteries and a charger at $248 is the standout value, since those batteries normally run about $200 on their own.

Metabo HPT Mid-Range Brushless Grinder
This brushless grinder has held steady around $94.99 and rarely stays above $150 for long. It has handled everything asked of it in use, and at $94 it’s a solid mid-range pick.
Two quibbles: the paddle switch would be nicer as a lock switch, and the automatic power mode adds a one-to-three second delay before ramping up when it senses load. A simple full-power setting or adjustable modes would be preferable. Neither issue is a dealbreaker at this price.
Makita XPH14 Hammer Drill
Here’s a surprise: the XPH14 hammer drill, a genuinely excellent tool, is holding around $94, while the older XPH12 still sells for over $100. Retail on the XPH14 is roughly $180 to $190, so under $100 is remarkable.
It’s a little heavy, but it’s a fantastic hammer drill overall. Listing shows it shipped and sold by an authorized reseller rather than Makita directly, so buy with that in mind. Even so, this is one of the best sub-$100 drill deals currently available.
Craftsman V20 4Ah Battery at Lowe’s
Lowe’s has the Craftsman V20 4Ah battery marked down by $80, from around $120 to $40. This pack was previously given away as a free bonus with Craftsman purchases, which suggests these batteries may be getting cleared out.
Whatever the reason, $40 for a 4Ah V20 pack is a strong price, especially if you run Craftsman outdoor power equipment. If you’re invested in the V20 line, stock up while it lasts.
Bosch 1/2” Square Drive Brushless Impact Wrench
This Bosch impact wrench, in the compact or mid-torque class, delivers 330 ft-lbs of fastening torque and 590 ft-lbs of breakaway torque. It isn’t setting torque records, but the package deal at Lowe’s makes it interesting: it includes a free 4Ah battery and charger kit.
If you’re in the Bosch line and want a spare battery and charger, or you need a quality impact wrench to keep in the truck, this is a sensible pick at a good effective price.
Kobalt 5-Tool Brushless Combo Kit
Kobalt competes directly with Ridgid, and this week it wins on value: a five-tool brushless combo kit for $209. You get a radio, circular saw, impact wrench, drill, and a light. We’d argue the light is more of a throw-in than a real tool, but that doesn’t change the math much.
The kit includes one battery, a charger, and a case. Brushless across the board at this price is genuinely hard to find, making this the standout combo deal of the week.
Overall Buying Advice
If you want one purchase that delivers the most value for the money, the Kobalt 5-tool kit at $209 is the clear pick for anyone starting or expanding a collection. Shoppers already on a battery platform should prioritize consumables and add-ons: the Craftsman V20 battery at $40, the DeWalt PowerStack two-pack at $95.99, and the Bosch impact wrench bundle with a free battery and charger all stretch your existing investment further.
For single-tool buys, the Makita XPH14 under $100 and the Metabo HPT grinders are the week’s easiest recommendations. Avoid the Milwaukee brushed 10-tool kit unless the contents genuinely match your needs at a lower price.
Conclusion
This week skews toward practical, incremental savings rather than spectacular discounts, but a few deals stand out: the Kobalt brushless combo, the DeWalt battery pack, and the Makita XPH14 drill. Keep an eye out as the season shifts, since outdoor power tool promotions should start appearing more often.
