Two battery-powered handheld sprayers from Milwaukee's M12 platform, offering adjustable pressure, big runtime, and pump-free convenience.

Introduction

Milwaukee’s M12 handheld sprayers are built for jobs like killing weeds, spraying pesticides or chemicals, and disinfecting larger areas. The key selling point is pressure control without manual pumping: an M12 battery powers the sprayer, so you get instant, constant, and adjustable pressure at your fingertips.

The lineup covers two tank sizes, so you can match the sprayer to the size of your job. In this guide we break down both models, what they share, and which one fits your work best.

Why Battery-Powered Spraying Makes Sense

Other battery-powered sprayers exist on the market, but the M12 models have one clear advantage: they are part of Milwaukee’s M12 platform. If you already own M12 batteries and tools, the sprayer drops straight into that ecosystem with no extra battery investment.

Weight matters too. Compared to the Milwaukee M18 Switch Tank, the M12 sprayer drops more than 16 pounds, largely thanks to the smaller tank. That difference is easy to feel during longer spraying sessions.

One-Gallon Model: 2528-21G1

The one-gallon model, the 2528-21G1, is the lighter and more compact option. Its kit retails for $189, making it the entry point into the M12 sprayer line.

This is the right pick for smaller jobs: spot-treating weeds, spraying around flower beds, or light disinfecting tasks where a smaller tank keeps the weight down and the maneuverability up.

Two-Gallon Model: 2528-21G2

The two-gallon model, the 2528-21G2, doubles the tank capacity for just $10 more at $199 for the kit. For anyone covering larger areas, that capacity bump is an easy case to make.

Fewer refill trips mean less downtime, and the two-gallon tank is well suited to disinfecting large areas or spraying extensive garden and landscape zones in one session.

Pressure Control and Spray Reach

Both models offer variable pressure settings anywhere from 20 to 80 psi, all controlled with a three-mode pressure adjustment knob. That range covers delicate misting through more forceful spray applications.

At the maximum 80 psi setting, the sprayers can deliver up to 17 feet of vertical spray, which helps when treating tall shrubs, fencing, or overhead surfaces.

Battery Runtime

Milwaukee says the M12 Red Lithium CP 2.0 battery lets you deliver up to 80 gallons of sprayed solution per charge. For a handheld sprayer, that is a phenomenal amount of work between charges, and it comfortably covers a long day of treatment on a single battery.

Filling, Measuring, and Keeping Debris Out

Practical details are handled well. There is an onboard measuring cup for quick measurements of most solutions, so you can mix directly at the tank without hunting for separate containers.

A built-in strainer also helps keep debris from entering the tank, which protects the pump and the wand from clogs over time.

Which One Should You Buy?

If your work is mostly spot treatments and small areas, the one-gallon 2528-21G1 at $189 keeps things light and affordable. If you spray larger areas or want fewer refills, the two-gallon 2528-21G2 at $199 is the better fit, and the small price gap makes it an easy upgrade.

Both models were set to arrive starting in November 2022 at Milwaukee retailers, so check availability with your favorite dealer or online.

Conclusion

The Milwaukee M12 handheld sprayers take the tedium out of spraying by removing manual pumping entirely, while adding adjustable pressure, strong reach, and generous battery runtime. Choose the one-gallon model for lighter, more frequent jobs, and the two-gallon model when coverage matters most. Either way, owning M12 batteries already makes these an especially convenient addition to the platform.
