Axwell Damascus Wallets: Black, Gold, and Nebula Compared
Three new MagLock cover plate wallets from Axwell, sharing the same 304 stainless steel build with very different personalities.
Introduction
Axwell’s wallet platform has been around long enough that the core design needs little introduction. What is new here is a set of MagLock cover plates in 304 stainless steel with a Damascus-style finish, arriving in three flavors: Black Damascus, Gold Damascus, and Nebula Damascus. The hardware and styling of the wallet itself are unchanged; only the plates are new.
We spent time with all three, and the short version is this: they are the same wallet underneath, but the finishes give each one a very different personality. If you already know you like flashy metal wallets, there is plenty to enjoy here.
What All Three Wallets Share
Functionally, nothing has changed. These hold 1 to 12 cards plus bills, block RFID, and carry a lifetime warranty. Each wallet includes both a money clip and a cash strap, and the MagLock cover plates are replaceable, which is what makes the whole system modular.
It is also worth noting that Axwell donates to homeless veterans for every wallet sold, a detail that matters to some buyers more than any finish ever will.

One honest note on the material: these plates are 304 stainless steel with a PVD coating rather than forged Damascus. Run a finger across the surface and you can feel the ridges, whereas real Damascus would be smooth. That said, the texturing looks convincing in the right light and holds up well in hand.
Axwell Black Damascus Wallet
The Black Damascus is the most restrained of the three, and it is arguably the strongest. The dark rippled pattern reads as quietly premium rather than loud, and the texture catches light beautifully when you angle it just right.
At $125, it is also the cheapest of the trio, sitting $10 below the other two. For anyone who likes the Damascus look without wanting their pocket to become a statement piece, this is the one that makes the most sense.
Axwell Gold Damascus Wallet
The Gold Damascus does not do subtle. It is bright, reflective, and genuinely casts a warm gold glow onto nearby surfaces. If you like flashy gear and want to stand out, this is the pick.
It carries the same 304 stainless steel construction and PVD coating as its siblings, priced at $135. The trade-off is obvious: maximum attention, minimum discretion.

Axwell Nebula Damascus Wallet
The Nebula is the finish most likely to surprise you. Online it looks like a full color-spectrum shift, but in person it leans predominantly purple and blue, with hints of yellow, orange, green, and blue appearing around the edges depending on the angle and light.
It is still a striking wallet, and the back face in particular is worth admiring. But buyers should calibrate expectations: this is a purple-blue iridescent look, not a rainbow chameleon. It is priced at $135.
Modularity and Everyday Function
The cleverest part of the system remains the MagLock plates. Six magnets on each end hold each cover plate in place, and the plates lift right off, so you can mix and match fronts and backs across different Axwell wallets. A black back paired with a copper or gold front is entirely fair game.

Between interchangeable plates, the choice between cash strap and money clip, and the ability to go ultra-minimal with just the clip, the wallet adapts to how you actually want to carry. An added bonus: a blue cobalt Damascus version is available for pre-order in the same range, and its bright blue finish is seriously tempting.
Which One Should You Buy
Choose the Black Damascus if you want the Damascus aesthetic in a form you could carry every day without drawing attention. Choose the Gold if standing out is the whole point. Choose the Nebula if you want color-shift flair with a purple-blue bias.

All three share the same solid fundamentals: RFID blocking, a 1 to 12 card capacity, a lifetime warranty, and genuine modularity. Given the $125 versus $135 pricing, the decision really comes down to which finish makes you smile when you pull it out of your pocket.
Conclusion
These new Damascus cover plates do not reinvent the Axwell wallet, and they do not need to. They give an already capable platform three distinctive new faces, with the black version offering the best balance of style and restraint. If you are already a fan of metal wallets, any of the three is an easy recommendation; just pick the finish that matches your tolerance for attention.
