Armorgard Site Storage Roundup: Five Secure Options for Tools and Equipment

A hands-on look at five Armorgard storage solutions, from the heavy-duty ToughBank and OxBox to Trek Drawers, a collapsible Forma-Sta shed, and a purpose-built cutting station.

Introduction

Anyone with a serious tool collection eventually runs into the same problem: where do you keep it all so it stays dry, dust-free, and out of the hands of thieves? Armorgard’s lineup aims squarely at that problem, with steel site boxes, sliding drawer units, a collapsible shed, and even a purpose-built cutting station. We took a close look at five of the ranges to see which suits which situation.

Armorgard ToughBank: The Heavy-Duty Flagship

The ToughBank is the premium option in the range, built from 2mm and 3mm steel construction. Along the edge you get tamper guards to stop anyone prying the lid open, and a red lid stay holds the lid up so wind cannot bring it crashing down. Security is serious too: two five-lever safe locks come as standard.

This unit weighs 80kg, which is itself a deterrent. The wheels can be locked, and skids at the base allow forklift pickup, with optional lifting eyes for crane use. The smaller ToughBank shown here is the smallest of the sight box range; others are sized for vans and trucks, and the largest, the TBC5, runs five foot wide by four foot high by two foot deep, big enough to leave tools in their original cases.

If you want maximum steel, anti-jimmy features, and room to spare, the ToughBank is the one to beat.

Armorgard OxBox: The Budget-Conscious Alternative

The OxBox range is very similar in concept to the ToughBank but steps down the specification to save cost. Where the ToughBank uses 2mm and 3mm steel, the OxBox uses 1.5mm and 2mm, and the struts and anti-pry features are trimmed back. Side handles are also absent compared with the ToughBank.

They are still genuinely tough boxes. The OxBox 1, sized for vans, weighs 30kg, while the OxBox 2 for trucks weighs 40kg, and skid-equipped and larger versions are available just like the ToughBank. For buyers who want solid steel security without paying for the flagship’s full feature set, the OxBox is the sensible middle ground.

Armorgard Trek Drawers: Sliding Storage for Vans and Sheds

The Trek Drawers range is the pick for anyone who wants to slide tools out rather than lift them out of a deep box. The largest, Trek Drawer 3, measures just over a metre deep internally with around 400mm internal depth and 400mm internal width, and it fits three Systainer-style cases side by side with ease. There is also a wide Trek Drawer 2, the width of two of the smaller units, designed to sit at the base of a van with smaller drawers stacked on top.

Practical details abound: slots in the sides accept an optional divider kit, rubber mats are available to quiet the steel, and there is a five-lever safe lock on either side. The units can be keyed alike so one key opens everything. Optional side brackets let you link two units together so they cannot topple or be walked off with, and mounting kits let you fix them to a vehicle base or building, or even screw them down from inside the unit itself.

The top Trek Drawer 1 is 245mm deep and weighs 44kg, while the bottom number 3 unit weighs 58kg, all in 1.5mm steel. For van builds and shed storage, these are among the most flexible options in the lineup.

Armorgard Cutting Station: A Workshop in a Box

The Armorgard cutting station is a different beast entirely, designed around safe, contained cutting work. Soundproofing lines the back panel, a dust extractor hooks up at the bottom to suck up debris, and the whole unit is fire rated. There are sockets inside for your saws and integrated lighting, so it works as a self-contained cutting bay.

Support arms extend out the sides by a good metre with a V-channel for supporting material, and at the end of the day your drop saw locks away securely underneath. This is the basic unit, but a version with full ducting and extraction already in place is available, ready to hook up straight away. It comes with castors and skids, and you can remove the castors and bolt it to the ground if you prefer it fixed.

Armorgard Forma-Sta: A Collapsible On-Site Shed

For serious capacity, the Forma-Sta is a collapsible steel shed you can put up and take down as needed. Depths start at one metre and go up through two, three, and four metres, all at two metres wide and two metres high. An optional blocker bar adds security across the front door, and ramps and shelves are available as extras.

Assembly is the headline feature: roughly ten minutes up and ten minutes down. That makes it easy to move the shed between phases of a construction project as work progresses. If you would rather not disassemble it, optional lifting eyes let a crane pick up the whole structure intact.

For anyone who needs secure, roomy storage that can relocate as the job demands, the Forma-Sta is hard to argue with.

Which One Should You Buy?

It comes down to how and where you work. The ToughBank is for maximum security and capacity with no compromises, while the OxBox delivers most of the same idea at a lower spec and price. Trek Drawers suit van lifers and anyone who wants organised, slide-out access, especially with the keying, mounting, and divider options. The Forma-Sta answers the question of what to do when a box simply is not big enough, and the cutting station is the specialist pick for site cutting work with dust, noise, and fire safety handled.

It is also worth noting that Armorgard makes far more than these five ranges, including tough cages for hazardous materials, pipe racks, rubble trucks, work platforms, and tough benches.

Conclusion

Armorgard’s strength here is that each range solves a distinct problem rather than competing with itself. Pick the ToughBank for flagship security, the OxBox for value, the Trek Drawers for organisation on the move, the Forma-Sta for walk-in capacity, and the cutting station for a safe, enclosed cutting setup. Match the product to your actual working pattern and you will not go far wrong.
