Allett Daily Cross Body Sling Review: A 4L Sling That Gets Organization Right
A well-built 4-liter cross body sling with recycled nylon, four layers of padding, and pockets that make small-gear carry genuinely easy.
Introduction
Allett built its reputation on minimalist wallets, and the brand has now extended that same thinking into a new line of slings. The Daily Cross Body Sling is one of them, and it manages to be one of those small bags that feels bigger than its spec sheet. At 4 liters and just 8.8 ounces (249 g), it carries a surprising amount of gear while staying compact and easy to live with. After spending time with it, the biggest impression is how much useful organization Allett packed in without making the bag bulky.
Build Quality and Materials
The Daily Cross Body is made from midweight 420 recycled nylon with a water resistant coating, and it uses large number eight YKK zippers that run smoothly in day-to-day use. The main compartment opens with a double zipper, so you can access it from either direction or lock the two pulls together with a micro lock if you prefer extra security.

One of the standout design choices is the color treatment. The tested Lunar Ash colorway pairs a light grey exterior with a bright orange lining inside, which makes it easy to spot your gear at a glance. The one caveat is that on this lighter colorway, the orange liner sits directly behind the exterior fabric in a few spots, such as the top section, the sides, and a little on the bottom. It is not very obvious, but it can be seen if you look closely. This should only be an issue on the lighter color, and the other colorways should not show it.
Organization and Pockets
This is where the bag really earns its keep. The front pocket’s zipper starts a little lower down, giving the pocket its own volume, and it is lined with a very soft faux suede feel fabric. It is a great spot for sunglasses or a phone.

Inside, the main compartment takes up most of the 4-liter volume, and around it Allett adds further organization. On the front of the bag’s interior you get three stretchy sleeves in the same soft suede-feel fabric, plus a key leash and a small pen holder. The back of the bag has a slim padded sleeve, and behind that a zipper pocket that suits something thin like a passport or a travel wallet.
Padding is generous for a bag this size. The front pocket is padded, the interior layer separator is padded, the divider sleeve is padded, and the back panel is padded too. That is four layers of padding front to back, which makes this a confident home for fragile items. The only unpadded part is the bottom.
What Fits Inside: Real-World Packing
The large main compartment swallows a lot. A half-liter water bottle fits easily, as does a small windbreaker or an umbrella. The basics like a phone, wallet, and keys are trivial. For travel, a passport wallet such as the Chums Surf Short or Allett’s own travel wallet works well in the rear zipper pocket.
For a tech-leaning carry, the bag handled a compact camera setup, earbuds, a short charge cord, a 5,000 mAh battery pack, a pen, lip balm, a mini pill bottle, sunglasses, hand sanitizer, and sunscreen. The padded back sleeve is also a natural spot for a tablet or e-reader: a reader a little under 8 inches wide fits with room to spare, and roughly an 8.25-inch tablet is about the maximum the sleeve will accept.

Overpacking is possible but not pleasant. Stuffing in a rain jacket, tablet, cameras, sunglasses, and all the small gear at once makes the bag very tight and hard to zip shut. A more reasonable daily load, like a rain jacket, sunglasses, one compact camera, a phone in the front pocket, and small items in the stretchy sleeves, leaves the bag full but comfortable.
Carry System and Comfort
The strap is a thin webbing with no padding, which is fine here since the bag is small and light enough not to need it. The strap attaches slightly below the top of the bag, so the sling sits more or less flush against your side. It is a closed system, so there are no dangling straps to flop around.

Adjustability is excellent. The strap can be extended far enough to let the bag ride quite low on the body, or shortened to carry it high, with plenty of adjustment range left over in either direction. That flexibility makes it easy to match the bag to different body sizes and carry preferences.
Buying Advice
If you want a compact sling for daily carry or light travel, the Daily Cross Body hits a sweet spot: small enough to stay out of the way, organized enough to replace a much larger bag. Choose a darker colorway if the faint lining show-through on the Lunar Ash concerns you. Skip it if you regularly need to carry bulky items, since the 4-liter volume and unpadded bottom have their limits.
Conclusion
The Allett Daily Cross Body Sling is a thoughtful, well-executed 4-liter sling. Strong materials, smooth YKK zippers, four layers of padding, and smart pocket placement make it a genuinely practical everyday bag, with only minor cosmetic quirks on the lighter colorway.
